Perfect 5 wire for strobes lights

Broken wire inside 100 foot coil of cable.
I needed 100 feet of 4 wire cable to operate a remote antenna switch for my ham radio station and chose to buy a 5 wire cable just in case. After running the cable and connecting the wires to the outside unit , one antenna could not be selected. The yellow wire was broken broke somewhere inside the cable. I was able to use the spare wire and it now works ok BUT I am not happy about the situation. Otherwise the cable is ok but where is the quality control?
