DreamSky Digital Clock with Date and Day of Week with Battery Backup

This is very nice and it hung on the wall rather easily. See the attached picture. A big positive is that the brightness can be altered for daylight or for night time sleeping. Everything on it is easy to read from a reasonable distance while laying in bed. When set on a dim light you can press the top of the clock and it will instantly turn bright then dim again in a few seconds. If you have prescription glasses the time digits are large enough that it is possible to read the clock from 6 to 8 ft away. While I am not sending it back I am disappointed in one thing that was of importance to me prior to buying it. There appears to be no way to set an alarm so that it rings only one time. Using another alarm I set that for 2:00 a.m. so that I can then go to the airport. The alarm will go off once and I turn it off. This particular clock has something like six alarms and in order to quit an alarm you have to take it off the wall and then press one of the buttons for one of the six alarms. If you don't pull it off the wall then the alarm is going to repeat itself in this case at 2:00 a.m. until somebody turns it off or changes the time. Having alarm buttons on the back is highly inconvenient if you're waking up at 2:00 a.m. in the morning. Like any cell phone there is no button that makes it clear This is a one-time only alarm. The face of my clock is in blue but you can get it in other colors. I like blue because it's very soft on the eyes, especially when you have a low light setting. After the clock have been on the wall for no more than 36 hours we had a one-hour power outage. Fortunately I had put the three AA batteries in the back of the clock. As soon as the power came back on none of the settings on the clock were lost at all. That is a very nice feature. The clock also has a USB charging point. Why would a company make a clock with six alarms? I am clueless to be able to answer such a question. Is this a Navy thing? It covers six four hour shifts or watches?

This is a wonderful clock to have anywhere in your home. I LOVE it. I wanted a clock in my exercise room and I thought this clock had more info on it than I needed, but I found that I am using every bit of info it gives me from the temp. in the room, to the second hand count down to the beautiful large blue numbers that can easily be seen from any piece of my equipment. I am a Senior and this clock totally fits the bill. I can't think of any information I need that it doesn't provide...It even has an icon that tells you if it's safe or too hot to walk your dog! Love the battery back up too, as our electricity has gone out a number of times with the heat here over the last few days and the battery back up keeps all my settings in place till it comes back on. You will not be sorry if you purchase this clock. Have a real gem in this one!

I love this clock! It replaces a boxy clock radio from the 80s that was starting to lose functionality. At age 74, I am doing all I can to ward off senility and set up a sustainable lifestyle for my remaining years. I so appreciate that this clock has LARGE letters and numbers, shows me the date and day of the week (OK, showing me what year it is might be overkill) and the room temperature. I can see what time it is from across the house, looking down the hall to my bedroom. I LOVE the auto-dimming feature, which when set will dim the display from 9 PM to 7 AM. At first I forgot to set this, and the clock was VERY bright overnight. Once I set it, it dimmed a lot, but I was still able to see what time it was if I woke up in the middle of the night. It was very easy to set the date and time, but I would offer a tip to those, like me, who use the 12-hour clock. There is no way to set AM or PM, but the workaround is to first select the "24-hour" format, then set your time, then go back and set it to 12 hours. I imagine you will have to do this for the alarms too. I have not needed to set any alarms yet, but I got a chuckle out of the pre-ordained reasons for each alarm, like "Walk the dog" or "Clinic," which light up on the screen when you set that alarm. I think there must be dozens of reasons people set alarms, and the company should probably just call them Alarm 1-5. Since this clock is touted as being for old people, I can imagine some old people need reminders to take medication, go to meals, or drink water several times a day, but this does not need to be hard-wired. Anyway, I am very happy with this clock.

The cock has a great display and all the information in one place. I only had one small issue and that was in setting up each feature. I was unsure of what the instructions meant,especially when setting the time. I figured it out an now I LOVE this clock! So much information right in one place. I am happy that I keep trying until I got the features all set up.

It is ironic that this clock (which I like very much) comes with instructions which have such small print and printed diagrams that the instructions are difficult to read, even with glasses and aided by a magnifying lens. ( I have now bought a larger magnifying lens than my jeweler's loup--which only works anyway when held close to the eye. Manufacturer, Please take note and print larger font instructions and diagrams. Also please drop the very obvious and gratuitous comments on being a good gift for those with dementia and alzheimers. It is, but it is off-putting to read that when you are old and buying it for yourself and still have all your marbles. I bought it anyway because I wanted a clock I could see across the room in the dark. I'm happy it also has the day, date, year, and temperature features, too. I like that. But primarily I was looking for a clock I could read in the dark across the room and would automatically change the time in accord with daylight savings time. This does all that and keeps time in accord with atomic clock signals. Everything I wanted at a reasonable price. I would also add that buyers should beware buying digital clocks which have black figures on pale backgrounds. Those, you CAN NOT read in the dark, and even this clock can be set to dim at night. Make sure you have it set not to do that. IT IS A VERY GOOD CLOCK TO SEE THE TIME IN THE DARK. (also to see the other features). I recommend buying it, but if you have access to a xerox machine, you might want to use the machine to copy the instructions in an enlarged format. The clock is good. P. S. If you do buy the clock for someone with dementia problems you or someone smart, patient, & eagle-eyed is going to have to set up all the features because a person with dementia or poor eye-sight won't be able to do the set-up. Don't just hand the gift in the box & say "Happy Birthday!" or whatever.

Excellent for senior citizens for a ready view of the day as well as time. This is third one I've ordered for family members. The quality is great; clock is easy to read; visibility is great also.

Really liking this clock. In my early 60's but good to not have to put on my glasses to see the time at night. Love having the date and day there too. I do find all the buttons to set the alarms a bit aggravating but overall I only set alarms for appointments so I set the clock and my phone in the event one fails or is not set right. The temperature is surprising accurate too. Could be a bit less expensive as the plastic body is cheap and the stands are flimsy. Still I can't say I'm really disappointed.

I was initially a little skeptical because I didn't think the size of this clock would be large enough. I ordered a second clock for a different room because its size is perfect (I can easily read it from 15ft/4.5m away)
