Review: Superb Headphones - I'm so please I've purchased these headphones. They are comfortable, cover the whole ear and sound superb. The rich bass is something I've been looking for a long time. Also, the tone and range is excellent. As a musician I really appreciate listening to music through these wooden headphones. I highly recommend them to others. You won't be disappointed... Review: Great sound but has build quality issues. - The sound had good bass due to the wood. The headphones were comfortable when wearing. The downside was one of the top pads broke off whilst I was wearing them for the third time. There is a little plastic clip that holds the pad in place & allows it to flex up & down, on my pair one of the clips broke off & the other one had started to pull apart, just not sturdy enough for everyday use. I was a little gutted having to send them back, but if they break you’ve got to.

BASS!!!!!!
Like most other wooden phones, these just make your whole head reverberate with bass. Unlike most wooden phones, they're a good price. Build quality seems good, and the cord/ jack plugs don't cause undue hiss, crackle or loss of quality. Very nice headphones at a nice price.

Not robust onoy for sitting room use
First impressions were good. They look lovely, they are so comfortable, sound great. A month on the wood is cracking, the one pad on the head strap has fallen of . For that price I'd expect them to last a lot longer.

Simply the Best (Again).
Best Headphones I have ever listened to, which is what I originally said back in October 2014. However, after 5 years those original phones are no more. So when I saw these Symphonized Headphones, which I originally paid £75.00 for, now for only £30.00 I jumped at the chance to buy them again. These phones have a smooth but very detailed sound, good bass, without being boomy, and with enough mids and highs to keep all but the most critical audiophile happy. This is a five star product, which I would buy again and again if and when I had to.

So, I was hesitant about getting these, when I realized that they seem (and I mean REALLY seem) to be an OEM rebrand of the Esmooth 88E...somethings, from woodheadphones.com, which themselves seem to be OEM rebrands of Meze's 88 Classics. This, coupled with the fact that at the time of my purchasing, I could not find a non-Amazon-based Symphonized website anywhere (and outside of Amazon, I found no hard evidence of the company existing either...) meant I was wary. Make no mistake, I remain wary of them, and will update this review in a couple of months to let you know how things continue to stack up, but I have to say, these headphones actually are REALLY good. The fit feels weird at first, with the spring-arm things, but when you get used to them, they are like wearing... air... well Ok, I can feel them, but they're very comfortable. The fit and finish is really quite good. The wood is... real wood? Not sure if it's ebony or not, but it does seem like a quality hardwood, and my uneducated guess is that it probably is, given that is what the other very similar headphones seem to be. It isn't stained, that's for sure. The headband is mostly made of plastic, but it's pretty sturdy, and has that rubberized finish to it (this isn't functionally good for much of anything but it sure feels nice). There are metal bits, at the swivel points for the earcups. The foam is quite comfortable, and the ear-seal is good for me, which impressed me because I'd usually opt for over-ear, as opposed to on-ear, if possible. Extended listening doesn't seem to be giving me much in the way of pressure discomfort. One of my favourite bits is the cord, which is braided and has wooden housings at either end for the 3.5 mm plugs. The nylon braiding is some of the nicest I've seen on any device (mostly I've encountered it on mice, such as the RAT7, and the Func MS3). The 1/4" adapter is nothing special, but I'm sure it serves its purpose for those with a hi-fi. Every connector is gold-plated, which actually means something for analog, so that's good. The only bad I can say at the moment is that the pivots that hold the wood cups feel a bit loose, while the pivots that allow them to turn to lay flat seem a bit extra tight. Maybe the tolerances are off, maybe this is necessitated by the headband system. I can't really comment, and it really doesn't affect the wearing comfort, or anything besides. The audio quality is great - definitely among the nicest I've listened to (I've had the Sony MDR-V500DJ, a Razer Electra, a Logitech G930 and a Corsair Vengeance 2100). Assuming they continue to work properly, I would have to say that these headphones are proof that you can produce really excellent headphones for a cheap price. Maybe this has to do with a general lack of branding and prestige from the company, or maybe they really are just another name for an OEM copy of some very nice looking cans. Either way, I'm pleased with what I got for only $80. One thing that is reassuring is that these seem to be selling also on the American Amazon, and (I think) the UK one. It could be that Symphonized (whether they are connected with Meze and Esmooth/woodheadphones.com or not) only operate via Amazon... who knows. Pros: Great sound quality Comfortable, innovative design (not sure whose innovation but whatever) Great look and feel - unique and materials seem high quality Cons: Can't find much evidence of the company, some very suspicious similarities to Esmooth and Meze's offerings.

Klasse Preis Leistungs Verhältniss. Man bekommt hier guten Mittelklasse Sound geboten.

For the price point.... they sound stupid good! Not sure I agree with the other reviewer that mention these sound better then audio-technica's or v-modas or certain version of sony's or sennheiser. They def do sound better than Monsters, Beats by dre and Skullcandy's and other brands. Yes I do own all as well (about 20 pairs)... I am a headphone maniac... I guess you can say that for the price point, this pair is def a really great option compare to the mention brands and they really are comfortable. My v-moda 3 button cable works great with this pair which was a plus and also the v-moda boompro extension cable for the gamers out there works great!!! I Can use this for pc gaming xb1 gaming and ps4 gaming with the boompro cables which is also one thing I was really hoping I could do. One thing I know for sure is that with the use, this pair is going to sound even better so again if you can't afford the $150+ audio-technicas and sonys and also v-modas and sennheiser with higher price tag... you will not be disappointed with a pair of these headphones. I can at least assure you of that! BUY BUY BUY before they are no longer available for audiophile fanatics! the wood cover on this headphone makes it really attractive to the eye and its real wood so I'm guessing no pair sounds the same since this is a legit piece of wood which makes it even more unique and a great choice to have. May order a second one to keep at work. As far as noise isolation, they don't block out all external sound but I did not buy them looking for that feature. I hope this helps some of you audiophile doubts about this pair of headphones. But I do have to say my v-moda cables are what makes this headphone worth the addition to the collection. I was looking for a pair of headphones that will be true over the ear and light weight for long hours of wear and comfortable and this is exactly what I got with this pair. Again, sorry for repeating myself but V-MODA BOOMPRO + this pair of headphones for gamers.... is the answer to many problems! Ok so thats all I got to say. I hope this helps.

Build Quality - Seems OK overall. Not feeling "high quality". A bit flimsy at places. - Wood seems low quality and almost plastic-like. Had hard time telling if it's really wood. Could be better. (It's nothing like Audio-Technica W and ESW series, and shouldn't be expect to be so considering the price). - The pleather at ear pads are OK. The ear pads are soft enough. - The pleather at the headband is lower quality than the ear pads. Almost plastic-like. - Cable is so-so. Nothing to write home about. Comfort - Not the most comfortable headphone around, but not bad. - Ear pads are actually quite comfortable. - Clamping force are about OK. Not squeezing your head. Feel secure enough. - Wearing it for 2+ hours. Not a problem for me. Sound - This headphone sounds mediocre at best. - Too bloat mid-bass upward and into the mid-range. The deep bass is however lacking. Not rumbling enough. - In short, the bass has quantity but lacks quality. - The mid is recess, veil, and even hollow. Vocals seem muddy and mute. - The treble is almost non-exists, especially compared to other regions. - Clarity/details are not so good. Summary For the price I bought (~ 70$) it is an OK headphone. However, at its full price, there are better cans in that range. Even for ~70$ region, there are better sounding cans, such as Fostex TH-7 series (design might not be as attractive though). 3-Stars for the price I got. Will be 2-Stars for the full price. Disclaimer & Note Please keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion. You may find this headphone sounds good to your taste. Maybe it's just not for me. I'm keeping it anyway, since I'm kinda collecting headphones.

First off some specifications off box: Driver unit. Dynamic 50mm neodymium Sensitivity. 107+/-3db at 1khz,1mw Impedance. 32 ohms Freq. Response 18hz-22hz THD. <3db Rated input. 30mw Cable. 79"/2m braided nylon (nice cord) These are supra aural (on ear) wood cup headphones. Detachable cord (3.5) on left ear. Not much power is needed to drive these headphones to good listening levels. They play just fine with my nexus 7 which has weak audio output. My grado sr80 need an additional amp to get decent output. Listening on the nexus 7 I find they sound best with no equalizer. The bass is definitely more pronounced then mids or treble but overall they sound just fine. Listening to them on a USB/DAC from my computer I find they need a 3-5 db boost in the treble range to sound OK. As far as comfort the pleather ear pads are comfortable enough but suffer from ear sweat after about an hour. The phones sit fine on your head, not much pressure on the ears but are heavy compared to the grados. Bottom line is if you've been looking at similar headphones and wanted to check them out this is a great deal.
