Cheaper than Eley, but not as good, hard to say if it's worth it. ID is not 5/8
I've been on the hunt for the perfect hose for my plumbers. I don’t have long term tests, but my plumbers have opinions about the hoses just by feeling them. These are guys who have been plumbing for 30-50 years. "Damage from kinking" is the top priority for hoses, as every hose will inevitably kink, creating a weak spot that will kink more easily in the future and eventually break. I'm reviewing only 5/8" variants, and I'll include full descriptions at the end for reference. Yotoo: $40 for 100ft, great price (50ft for $30 is less of a deal). It seems like good quality, we use it across our gravel drive way and several trucks ran it over, no issues yet. It’s thick enough walls to not puncture or fall apart quickly, it’s flexible enough to use easily, and when kinked, it bounces back reasonably well. It more flexible than the continental, stiffer than flexzilla, but it’s unclear if the outer layer is as durable. It feels like Flexzilla has the weakest outerlayer. I would take Yotoo over Flexzilla and Gilmour. Flexzilla, Gilmour flexogen, zero G are all $40 for 50 feet. Flexzilla is unimpressive, check out project farm’s youtube video comparing garden hoses. The hose arrived rolled up, and it had 2 kinks in it already. It is flexible, but it can still kink. If you want “flex” such as the name suggests, then get a “flat” hose such as the Zero G. It is light, so that’s nice. The o-ring does not impress us and we’re not convinced it will last longer than a washer, it’s not clear if you can replace the O ring with a washer if the ring is damaged. Overall, yes, this hose will probably not get weak spots from kinking, but it will kink, a lot, and the whole outer jacket feels weak. Gilmour Flexogen is the stiffest hose I’m comparing. It resists kinking really well, it scored the best on Project farm for the normal hoses. My plumbers don’t like the stiffness though as they use a hose reel, and it can simply be a pain to use a stiff hose that keeps the hose reel shape. Also, when it does kink, the stiffness is being broken, you can feel/see that happening even when new. This will probably create a weak point worse than the other hoses. We also worry that heavy use, especially in the heat, the stiffness will break down. If it does that evenly it might be okay, I’m worried it’ll just weaken the kink spots, making it easier to kink/break. Zero G, flat hose, we need to test it for durability as we’ve never used flat garden hoses before. A flat hose really avoids the main problem, it doesn’t kink nor get weak spots. Shrinking/expanding hoses have terrible durability, so Zero G which does not expand should be more durable. My plumbers like the idea, and plan to put a 100ft on the hose reel first, since it’ll take up hardly any room, then keep a non-flat 50ft on top of that for daily use. The downside of flat hoses is that they have lower flow, and need to be “straightened” for higher flow, and they can be slow to drain something with no pressure, as pressure is needed to keep it from collapsing. Also, kinking a flat hose to turn the water off is not so easy, but you should get a shutoff valve for any hose in my opinion (more on that below). If you are okay with the downsides of a flat hose, the upsides are worth considering, especially if it’s as durable as we hope. Continental Premium, $50 for 50ft, this was under the brand Goodyear (like the tires). Assuming they have not changed quality, we have used goodyear hoses for years. It has a really durable rubber. The stuff that makes the rubber keep it’s shape (sometimes called “midlayer” or “reinforcement”) will get very flexible with use, but it starts off stiffer than the flexzilla. But when kinked, it doesn’t feel like it’s creating a weak spot, it’s breaking in, not breaking it. The rubber feels much thicker than Flexogen too, which helps prevent kinks, and increases durability. If you don’t care about weight, and you plan to use it a long time, I would bet on this over the Flexzilla for the extra $50. Now let’s talk premium…Polyurethane Hoses Water Right 600 series hose, $95 for 50ft, or $150 for 100ft. Seems pricey, but it’s not as pricey as the next hose. The PU (polyurethane) naturally resists kinking, and naturally holds it’s shape. It has a midlayer to help keep it stiff, but the PU is helping the midlayer stay circular, unlike rubber and pvc hoses. PU hoses are decently light. We have not tested this one yet (we have it in hand, passed around, but it’s waiting to be placed on a truck) but it does seem to be right in between the quality of the cheaper hoses and the quality of the Eley hose. It wants to bounce back and stay circular (not oval) but not to the degree of trhe Eley hose. The Water Right hose shows it’s reinforcement, whereas the Eley hose is totally smooth. Water right is 12lbs per 100ft, Eley is 14lb per 100ft, I think eley has more PU on top of the midlayer. Water right has an outside diameter of .75-.85” (it’s a little oval) and Eley is .9” (it’s almost perfectly roun). So I suspect there’s an extra .1” of PU on Eley. My biggest concern is that Water Right does not bounce back to round with the same urgency as Eley, a think kink spots will form, and get weak, and break, just like all the cheaper hoses. Also, the inside diameter of Water Right is only .535" and I would really like it to be larger than that. i could probably put an Eley hose end on a Water Tight hose though, it says it can work with most 5/8 hoses. The ID of the repair ends are not listed, but a factory end from the Eley is .625" (exactly 5/8"). This uses a standard washer (although they brag is better, which is fine, my point is I can replace it if lost or broken). Eley hose, $115 for 50ft, $200 for 100ft. You get what you pay for. I'm sure it's the highest flow of any hose with an inside diameter of .635" in the female fitting. They are not sold at amazon. This thing shows absolutely no signs of being kinked, it appears to not be weakened in any way. Which is weird, because their listing shows a thick midayer that looks like it would feel like the Gilmour. But actually feeling the hose, it’s hard to tell that it has any reinforcement, it gives the feeling that it is solid PU all the way through. But the most impressive part is when you release the kink, it bounces back like a spring, like it WANTS to be unkinked with a vengeance. It’s also slightly less stiff than the Water Right, and a lot less stiff than the Gilmour. But the stiffness is not as much of a problem, when it wants to be straight. It’s only a problem when it wants to be curved. By straight, I mean straighter than it is on the hose reel. Gilmour want to stay in the hose reel tight curve (2 foot diameter) Eley wants to go into a 10 foot curve. Water Right wants to be somewhere in between. Eley uses an o-ring and says a normal washer is too small to work. They sell packs of 12 for $8, so that's fine. In theory, you can buy repair kits for all of these hoses, but the Eley hose sells their own kits, and it seems like you would have a “from the factory” finished product using their kits, with no flow restriction (I think it might be the EXACT fitting they use at the factory). With Eley hoses and repair fittings, you would be guaranteed the fittings have the perfect diameter for the hose. That is another argument for buying extra long (Eley sells their hoses up to 200ft) you pay less per foot, and you can cut it down if damage occurs. But the repair tool costs $25, the fittings cost $11 for each side, it adds up. Eley also has a 10 year warranty, but it’s probably always abuse that causes hoses to fail. If Zero G, or some other flat hose does not work out, I’ll probably start buying the max length eley hoses and make our own length. I highly recommend getting the “STYDDI Brass Garden Hose Shut Off Valve Full Flow” it’s expensive ($15ish) but it’s the biggest I can find. If you don’t have a shutoff, you will kink the end of your hose on occasion to turn the water off. Hoses will still kink on accident, but having a shutoff means you’ll never have to purposefully kink it again. If you plan to leave a hose connected 24/7 and especially be used, such as for an RV or irrigation, mixing metals is a problem, water flow across 2 different metals it will cause galvanic corrosion. If you have a brass hose bibb, you want a hose with brass fittings for that application. But if you just have a garden hose connected all summer long and you’re just using it an hour a day, I don’t imagine mixed metals being a problem. Expensive but a great hose
I bought this garden hose because I wanted a hose that was light, durable, and one that is safe for drinking (I use it for watering the vegetable gardens). This hose is expensive at 2-3 times the amount of a regular hose. but it does deliver - it is light (especially when not filled with water), flexible, seems durable, and does not kink much at all. I also like the green color that blends into the house and landscaping. I originally purchased the Flexilla hose and then returned it - it seemed a decent enough hose, but I could not get used to looking at the neon green color. The hose from Water Right seems much better quality (and it should for the money), I especially like that this hose comes with a 5-year warranty. I hope never to use it but that seems to tell me there should be some durability to the hose. Will update more once I have used it for a longer period of time but happy for now.

Two-Year Review - Excellent Quality, No Leaks, Highly Recommend
High quality, heavy duty. It can kink under certain conditions, but is not prone to it. Has lasted through multiple Southern California summers with direct sun. I recommend a high-quality hose reel to go with it. Search Google for high quality brass hose reel and you will come upon the one I recommend to go with this hose. Both ends have nice fittings. Brass and stainless steel options are great, but brass is always the one actually in stock so I went with that. I haven't had any leaking with either fittings. I also really like the reinforced ends. Functions as expected for a hose. Very flexible, but can occasionally kink, but it is rare when using a hose reel. I bought an olive colored one which looks really nice outdoors. 75-Foot x 5/8-Inch, Olive

This is a great hose. It is pricey but you get what ...
This is a great hose. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. I needed a 100 ft hose to reach from the hydrant in the barn out to the garden. I wanted one that was drinking water safe. It is used for watering chickens (used for meat and eggs) a 1/2 acre garden and horses. The hydrant is drinking water safe along with the splitters we use. What would be the point of using a non drinking water hose if we were concerned enough to make sure everything else was safe. I looked for a long time and read countless reviews. I wanted something that was light weight, wouldn't kink and was sturdy. This hose fits the bill! It's even a nice olive green and isn't that noticeable running along the fence line. I love how easy it is to carry, and unwind. Even new it just took a couple of shakes to straighten it out. Now this winter when I need to fill troughs for the horses and refill the chickens water it won't be a struggle in the cold with a heavy hose that wants to kink constantly and get stuck on everything. Definitely recommended.

Sturdy, great quality, if not a little inflexible. But I'm happy
This pretty purple hose will last, I'm fairly confident. It is clearly the highest quality hose I've ever had. Did I want to spend so much on a hose? No. Did I want to stop having to replace my hose every few months more than spending a lot? Yep. Knowing it's not putting chemicals in my water is also worth it. Only complaint is it could be more flexible. It coils on the hose rack just fine but I wrestle w it a bit at the nozzle end. I did stretch it out in the sun initially as directed. But I'm working in a small area- it might be easier if you have more room. I also wish they made a nozzle w diff streams like the newer kinds have. I don't see any nozzle on their site currently. But otherwise very happy!

Great quality!
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. It's free from lead and bad chemicals. It's very light weight. It worked with all my my existing watering accessories. It retains its shape very well. I spent over a hour gardening and had zero kinks! I will update my review in the future if my experiences change, but this was money well spent and paying for quality was well spent. Thanks Water Right for having quality products available for consumer!

This is definitely a premium garden hose I got this hose, since the one I wanted was out of stock in my local hardware store) ( ANDERSON, a medium brand that's economical and I've used for 10 years .) This has the proper connectors, doesn't kink, seems heavy meaning strong, seems like it will last a long time. Works very well here, but 30% more expensive than someone that also works very well, perhaps more fragile, perhaps more flexible in the zero temperature range, very light, the SMART FLEX hose from Legacy Manufacturing (makers of Flexzilla.) This hose is drink safe, as is the Smart Flex, and not aluminum endings that will corrode and break from the chemical reaction between aluminum and brass of your fitting outside. Satisfied with both brands, 50 ft and 75 ft. As a side-note, there is obviously rubber inside the hose, considering that at frozen temperatures, or very slightly higher, the hose bends, moves, responds as if this were July weather, without hesitation, contrary to the cheaper vinyl hoses that lock up like stone im those temperatures. Again - quality here big-time.

I bought a hose from this brand that was on sale a couple of years back (400 series). The trouble is, it could do to be a bit longer so I bought this 600 series to add to it. These hoses are light but very durable and resist kinking. The 400 series (smaller diameter) was kink proof. I couldn't get a a kink in it if I tried. This one resists kinking and is strong yet still light in weight. It winds up nicely and without getting tangled. This brand of hose has superior connectors and attaches securely with no water leakage.

Good quality hose that is drinking water safe and also came in purple which is my wife's favorite color. Feels like it will last a very long time, quite thick and heavy duty.

It’s great to know that I have a hose that is actually safe for my family when I water my edible plants. The box it comes in clearing marks that it is the 600 series. There is a YouTube video that helps with how to wind it on the ground so it doesn’t get tangled.

I received a hose. Wish I could give you more detail but it didn’t come with any label or any markings on the hose as to what it was. Was it the 600 I ordered or the thinner 500? No idea. It certainly looks thinner and the opening seems smaller than my other 5/8ths. Doesnt have the writing on the ends like in the picture so no way to verify. Those just say Yardworks, which I don’t even think is the same company and certainly not the brand in the listing. Is it 75 feet? Not sure. It looks shorter but that could be because there os only a clop on one side and the hose looks thinner than it should be, so maybe that is why it doesn’t look so bulky. But not worth uncoiling to confirm because the diameter also looks wrong and not worth trying to send back a wet hose. Guess I will keep looking. It shouldn’t be hard for a vendor where they sell different items that look the same to provide on product information to allow customers to confirm. But there you go...
