This chocolate is clean and dark!!!! I love that there’s no processed sugar and it is very chocolately! If it’s your first time having chocolate this dark, you will find it weird at first, but my husband loves it and uses it for its health benefits! It does melt well.

I ordered this specifically because of the sustainability practices used throughout the process of making these bars. I haven’t seen many other companies that offer chocolate with this level of environmental concern. I. Addition to that the bars are delicious. The chocolate is dark, don’t expect overly sugary taste, but it has a nice flavor for what it offers. I will continue to purchase these to relieve my chocolate craving.

The flavor is outstanding and is the healthiest, having low sugar. They are also a B corporation meaning they pay their employees a living wage, and support their health care needs and make their product in an environmentally safe way. Without milk and sugar you get less calories, more magnesium, and the purest chocolate tase. It does not taste like dirt which I have found is true of other brands at this percentage. Eat it daily. And relish the flavor.

Overall a good choice. Very smooth, came well wrapped and with a cold pack. I would prefer it a bit sweeter, though.

I have been buying Alter Eco Chocolate Bars and Truffles for years, including through Amazon. In the past two months, I have had to return both the chocolate bars -today - and truffles - a few weeks ago. Something is wrong with the product. It has a weird, ashy, burnt undertaste that stays with you for hours. The chocolate bars that I returned today were inedible, as were the truffles that I returned a few weeks back. I do not know whether the problem is Amazon’s or Alter Eco’s but, if it’s Amazon selling old or rejected chocolate, then Alter Eco should take note, because I am switching to Lindt or another premium chocolate. Seriously, inedible only begins to describe how foul these chocolate bars were; I even considering saving the one I’d opened, in case I had food poisoning. (I sent it back with the box.)
