It is a nice solid scoop. I should have went a size smaller, this one is just a big for the freezer ice bin. The scoop itself is solid and made of quality material. I am making this one work for now though.

I have a plant care business and repot huge plants all the time - this scoop is the exact perfect size to fill a pot with a lot of soil and save me a ton of time. Its also super heavy duty and strong so I am never worried about breaking it no matter how much soil I have in the scoop or how wet and heavy the soil is. I know I know I will never have to replace this unless I leave it somewhere.

I was looking for scoops for additives I use in my potting soil, and ordered #34547 which was too large for the additives, but works perfectly for scooping soil into larger pots. I then ordered #34523 and it was perfect for the additives (perlite, vermiculite, etc.). The shape of these scoops is perfect for my purposes. They are very easy to use, and the ergonomics fit my hand perfectly. These scoops are lighter weight than the older ones I was using, but they are very sturdy and do the job. I have been using the larger scoop to mix the additives to my potting soil, and it has made this job much easier. Since I also buy various grains in bulk for cereal and flour, these scoops are also very useful to scoop these products into smaller containers for use. Since the scoops are made of aluminum, there should be no problem with rust. I hope this review was helpful for you.

makes an excellent scoop for garden products like potting soil, perlite, etc. not for digging in the garden. fantastic for arthritic or weaker hands.

Be careful, scoops are addictive. It starts out as just one for the chicken feed or whatever, but then you enjoy it so much that you get one for the baby chick feed. And then the potting mix, then a cute lil baby scoop for the bonsai mix etc. I'm at 4 scoops already but rest assured my mind is feverishly thinking of other things that need scoops. This particular scoop is very good value and built well.
