Clean air
This is the 10th time bying this. Living in a dusty and most times cork-dry high desert with lots of pollen, these filters cut out significant amounts from the air, along with air purifiers in most rooms. We change them out several times throughout the year. For winter these go on the larger intake vents for the forced air heater which we change every other month since they are close to the floor. The ceiling duct vents change every 3 months or so. I apply them to the inside, using minimal amounts of velcro; they stay between the wall and the vent and the screws through it help them stay in place. It's a clean look, one layer does not interfere much with output. The extra work is so worthwhile when you see how much it traps, instead of blowing into the house. These are just the right thickness. Tried some others that were too thick or dense, and you can hear the strain. In spring and summer the swamp cooler uses same ducts, so we change them out especially in the spring pollen hi season and we are breathing easier. They are easy to wash out if they are not too dirty, so it's a tough material and the "static" is created by the air moving through, so there's no degradation of the filtering. Over the years the price has crept up, but is still a good deal, figure our well- being and less cleaning are all worthwhile investments.

Helps with dust
Fantastic Product, Highly Recommended! I recently purchased this product from Amazon, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed! Not only did it arrive quickly and in perfect condition, but it also exceeded all of my expectations in terms of quality and performance. The product itself is well-made, durable, and functions exactly as described in the product listing. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to anyone in need. It's a fantastic value for the price, and I have no doubt that it will continue to serve me well for a long time. Thank you to the seller for offering such a great product on Amazon!

so easy to install but doesnt hold completely
So this uses a Velcro strip to hold the fabric to the vent. I've noticed that it doesn't always hold that well and most vents that I applied this to released the bottom grip. it isn't a big deal since pushing it back into the Velcro isn't difficult but expect to constantly have to do that. as for how much dust they block is hard to say. I do not see anything on the fabric that is facing the vent though. unlike with a air purifier filter where you clearly see the stuff it is trapping.

My landlord blames my use of these for his 40+ year old HVAC system fail
I loved them, they worked well against musty + dusty ducts in a 50-year old HVAC system. I used them for two years, changing every 3 months. BUT I'm not allowed to use them anymore because the landlord insists they blew out the AC. I would love it if I could get some information from the company on tests regarding airflow, etc, but... ? I now have a new HVAC system in my apartment, and exploring my options because the vents are old and were giving me trouble. The ducts were vacuumed, hopefully I won't need covers now. The intake filter was black when I moved in.

Has changed everything
Edit: year 2, and i am still impressed. After sealing all the duct work in the house and re insulating it all, i felt like there may be some drop in dust. Clearly, i was wrong. The most recent picture illustrates 6 months of continuous use, but as you can see the additional filter media is still very much required. Very glad that this dust isn’t getting into our home. The result is less cleaning, better air quality, and peace of mind. I change my primary filters religiously - 45 to 60 days instead of the 90 possible. I realized some time back that the floor registers were potentially allowing dust and fines to travel into the duct. I bought this filter media more to keep stuff out. The filters in the pictures above have been in use for 6months. While it is apparent that some material did fall into them, I am amazed by just how much dirt is in the system. I started using these filters when i redid the insulation on the ducts beneath the house. During that process i realized that there were many fist sized holes at poorly made joints or intersections. I had a company completely remake a few runs because it was so bad that there was little reason to just cover the holes up with tape or a patch. I truly believe that the velocity of the air through the duct work was sucking dust from the underside of the house. Then I reinsulated all the duct work - a worthy endeavor if much of your insulation has fallen off or deteriorated. After adding register filters and redoing the duct there was a noticeable decrease in dust in the house...likewise for the first time the primary filters lasted more like 45 days than 30 days. But nothing has shocked me during this process more than seeing how dirty the register filters have gotten. I am now sold on the filters and have added a reminder to my calendar to replace quarterly. While I have nothing to compare this filter media with, I would make two observations. One the thickness of the material is substantially better than typical rigid filter media. Second, if this material had any sort of perforations/faint lines/even a grid of dots at 1/2” centers, this product would be superior to simply a roll of filter media. One more price of advice, if you are in a newer home or just recently bought your house, if you do add these filters, check to make sure there is no debris in your ducts. The master bedroom in our home was always a little off compared to the rest of the house. When I changed the registers and added the filter I happened to notice a small corner of paper in the elbow beneath. I went and got a few things to help me get it out and in the process learned that a wrapper from the hard wood floors had been stuffed inside. Needless to say, the MBR is much more in tune with the remainder of the house. I highly recommend using filters at registers. While I am only in the first year of doing this, I notice my allergies are better and there is less dust in the house. Good luck.

Doesn’t help reduce dust
Doesn’t work. After a month they look the same as when I first put them on. If anything they restrict airflow and cause the other vents with no filter to be imbalanced. I use a high quality main filter by 3M 1900 so that might be why they look clean because that filter does all the work but either way they didn’t help reduce house dust

Gyp rock dust not being filtered out.
Likes: Easy to fit and install. Dislikes: Gyp rock dust not being filtered as well as we expected. Will replace next week on the main airsupply grates. This is on a new condo build with dual fan coil unit.

not worth the price
I have 10 air vents, and its just barely enough to cover them all, I think it's too expensive for 1 bag of filter. also the tape is not enough to attach all vents. so far I didn't see a big difference after using it for a couple of weeks
