I bought this set to work on wood though most of the tools would also be great for fine metal work. To give a price comparison, I recently purchased a single Stew Mac guitar fret file that looks and feels very similar to one of the smaller files in this set. That single file cost me more than 2 times as much as this entire set, so in terms of value, you're getting much more than you pay for. Even if you don't enjoy the hard plastic handles, it should be fairly easy to find a universal handle for all these pieces at an affordable price or even just carve your own set of handles, which is what I plan to do for the files that will see the most use. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of this set. I would recommend lubricating the set on arrival to ensure durability. Highly recommended.

Arrived in good condition, the heavy metal works great for filing and the wrapping make it easy to transport. My only issue is that the plastic handles are too delicate and can't handle the metal. They rip open and can never be reused again for another piece and they are too small and light to actually be used in relation to the file. However, the files themselves are fantastic so who cares? They've worked like a charm. I've been able to file down wood, plastic, even paper mache. Well worth the price.

I don't like the package case it comes in. It's cheap and poses difficulties to get the tools out. The tie strap, well I see that breaking after a few uses. It is the contents, the physical tools I like and that's the important thing.

I bought this set so that I can reprofile and sharpen my hatchet and axe. So far they're holding up well. They're not as hard as maybe a higher quality set but they get the job done. They work well for what they're made for. The handles are probably pvc or some other material. They fit well with a double tap and stay on while in use. I've got no complaints. I'd this set again.

Great affordable quality file and rasp set. Very durable easy to use and does not rust easily. This is the next line to the higher price brand.

Fairly good versatile file kit, I use these alot for all kinds of random things

I bought these to sharpen tools, like my shovels and spade, and they worked just fine. I was able to do the job quickly. I like it that there are different grades so that I can sharpen fairly quickly and then smooth the edge. They are a good value, and I'm very pleased.

I would order again.

Cons: Handles that comes separate are difficult to remove when files inserted, you need a hammer. Two files cannot use handle. Pros: Quality is good. Price is ok for 12-piece set and the brand is Neiko.
