Four Uncles Manual Oil Extractor Pump is a 5-star Product
I purchased this vacuum pump for my sister-in-law so she could do her own oil changes on her 2017 Dodge Challenger. (I would do oil changes for her but she lives more than 1000 miles away.) I took this pump with me when my wife and I visited her sister recently and we used it for the first time to do an oil change on her Challenger. The pump was very easy to put together and we had no trouble inserting the extraction tube into the dipstick tube on her car. Within just a few pumps, oil was flowing smoothly into the spherical reservoir. We realized after a few minutes we needed to snug the vacuum pump about a quarter turn more on the reservoir to maintain vacuum. Once we did that oil removal continued without continuous pumping. It took about 15 minutes for all the oil to be removed but only required pumping about 10 strokes at 5 minute intervals. The oil capacity in this vehicle is 5.9 quarts and that fit nicely in the oil vacuum reservoir without being drawn up into the pump unit. After changing the oil filter and refilling the vehicle with fresh oil, we transferred the used oil from the pump reservoir into the now-empty oil containers. This was very easy to do by unscrewing vacuum pump, capping the top hole in the reservoir, then unscrewing the oil vacuum hose from the offset port on the reservoir and then firmly pressing on the provided spout. Using the handle on the side of the reservoir it was very easy to pour the used oil into the containers with almost no drips or spilling. This product is very nicely designed as it is compact and works very well! It effectively removes all the oil with little mess and, most significantly, allows an oil change without having to crawl under the vehicle. It takes a little bit longer to remove the oil by vacuum than it does by draining, but the convenience of not having to get under the vehicle is well worth the extra few minutes it takes to complete the task. This is an excellent product that I recommend to anyone who already does their own oil changes or is interested in learning to do their own oil changes.

Very handy and saves you big bucks especially if you have a European Auto
This Oil Extractor Pump is an absolute game-changer for DIY car maintenance, particularly if you own a European vehicle where oil changes can be notoriously expensive. This tool is incredibly handy, easy to use, and saves you a significant amount of money in the long run. Pros: Convenient and Time-Saving: The manual pump design makes oil extraction quick and efficient. The 59" main hose and additional adapters ensure it can easily reach deep into the engine for thorough extraction. Versatile Usage: Works great for oil changes, but it’s also suitable for other fluids like brake or transmission fluid. Cost-Effective: Owning this extractor lets you bypass costly service center oil changes, especially for European cars, where labor charges can add up quickly. User-Friendly Design: The pump action is smooth, and the setup process is straightforward, even for those new to DIY maintenance. The transparent tank allows you to see how much oil you've extracted, so there’s no guesswork. Cons: Manual Effort Required: As a manual pump, it does require some physical effort to operate, but it’s manageable and not overly strenuous. Tank Capacity: At 6 liters, it’s perfect for most vehicles, but larger engines might require two cycles. Bottom Line: This extractor is a must-have for car enthusiasts or anyone looking to save money on routine maintenance. It’s durable, efficient, and pays for itself in just a couple of uses. Whether you’re maintaining a European car or just need a reliable tool for oil changes, the FOUR UNCLES 6L Manual Vacuum Oil Extractor is a worthwhile investment. Highly recommended!

Works really well. Worth the money!
Works Great. Holds 6-quarts. I used it to change the oil in my golf cart and lawn mower. The golf cart does have a drain plug, but it is a lot of work to get to it and cart needs to be lifted up. This sucked the oil out of the dip stick hole in a few minutes. I ran the engine so the engine / oil was hot. The engine only holds a quart of oil. Afterwards, I sucked the oil out of my push mower. The mower has forever oil. There is no drain plug. It took all of a minute to suck out 1/2 quart. This thing is a game changer for changing oil. I would buy again for sure. The quality seems good. I have only used it once so i don’t know how long it will last. It came with an extra seal/ check valve for the pump. It comes with several size plastic tubes. I used the small tube for the golf cart dipstick hole. The hot oil didn’t seem to bother the plastic.

Imploded and cracked leaking oil!!
I had a metal TopSider extractor for years and it worked great until the hoses started to leak so I decided to try this new one. I was soo excited to have this new fancy plastic model with a circular design. I followed the instructions and hooked up. Seemed to do well and sucked out the oil from the dipstick of my Pacifica minivan quite fast compared to my old TopSider. Then I started to see that half the circle was imploding. It was pushed in. Then I realized it lost suction. There was a crack in the plastic where it had been sucked in. I’ve used these before and this should not happen. I only had to pump it under 20 times!! Now it’s leaking oil and won’t develop suction. Wish I had bought the upright type sold.

Can save your engine.
Works as advertised, no issues. Read many reviews, I did not find any such problems. I purchased this b/c every time I have a dealership or independent shop change my oil (annually), they always overfill. Fyi, modern engines have close tolerances, oil is typically 05W-20, not the 10W-40 of older, larger engines. Anything over an eighth quart overfill can foam, and not properly reach the valves and impact the cylinder rings. Full Synthetics can mitigate this, only to a degree. Last go was nearly 1/2 quart overfill, very bad. At that point one can also have increased pressure and damage gaskets. So this product is an easy fix w/o pulling the drain plug. That being less specific on volume removal, and getting under the car, the mess, and you'll need a new crush washer and more time. The only reason 4, not 5 stars is I believe the manufacturer should include notations in the manual regarding after one drains the lines, do they require any cleaning beyond that. Perhaps not, but oil can get tacky. As the oil removed is not reused, not a big deal, but I think that aspect should be addressed. 4(+) stars, would highly recommend.

Perfect for Hobbiests
This 6L oil extractor is perfect for the hobbiest. I’ve used this on three boats and a lawnmower now. I’ve been able to pull 25w-40 oil cold and water oil mixtures. With the three different extraction adapters it works for any size dipstick or any extraction location you have. Including the brake bleeder adapter is genius and haven’t needed to use it yet but will absolutely be using it when the time comes. Material quality and ease of use is perfect. No issues with any parts and forsee this being borrowed by family quite frequently.

Not very sturdy
It worked good bleeding my the brakes on my bike, but imploded doing an oil change on my car. I had to use a tire pump to make it round again, but it collapses again with any vacuum pressure. Update: the company reached out and replaced the defective item, so 5 stars for a company that standa behind their product.
