Light not good for reading

I was not happy with this purchase. It came with batteries but they were leaking. I bought it to use as a night light when reading. The light from the lamp came in a concentrated beam, too small to read more than a couple of words at a time. I would not recommend it for reading. The only plus is that the robotic arm mechanism did work well and is interesting.
