Unbelievable value & quality.
I purchased this rod a couple weeks ago. I am a very experienced salt water wade fisherman and fish the New England coast in CT, RI, & Cape Cod for stripers. Last year I fished the Maxcatch Premiere 10wt all season long. Loved that rod so I decided to try the Predator. This is a quality salt water rod. High end components, guides, cork, great finish & feel. I've recommended this rod to a number of 'newbees' in the fly fishing & tying classes I teach. It's not only an entry level salt water rod, it more than measures up to all the other rods for hundreds of dollars more. I can't comment on the durability of this rod yet, but I don't expect any issues. That's based on experience with at least a half dozen other Maxcatch rods that I own. Extreme value for your money!

Good buy on a 7'11" budget friendly Fly Rod
Lately I have been trying some budget priced fly rodding equipment that in the past I may not let my eye stray to. This 7'11" tournament Bass fly rod appeared in an Amazon search and for 84 bucks I decided to give it a try. As a result I have to say that this rod performs well above it's price tag.. So far I've used it for Smallmouth Bass and I have no complaints. It is billed as a fast action rod but my take on it is that it's action is in fact less than fast but not terribly soft either. It casts acceptably and doesn't break the bank. Is it equal to an expensive Loomis, Scott or Sage rod????? I would say not. But it performs well enough to catch fish and serves up plenty of enjoyment in doing so.

What a Great Musky Rod!
Honestly, wasn’t expecting a whole bunch out of a $100 musky fly rod but man was I wrong. This thing really does an awesome job throwing big musky flies. It’s stiff, but not so much so that it makes it hard to load the rod. The extended fighting butt really makes figure 8’s a cake walk. It has plenty of power to handle big fish. I paired it with a 360gr intermediate line and it runs flawlessly. You really can’t beat this rod for the price. Most other musky rods will run you $300 plus, but this one would rival any of the big brands. The only shortcoming this rod has is the stripping guides, but that’s not a problem if you know how to replace them. If you’re wanting to get into musky fishing and not have it break the bank but this rod. You won’t regret it.

Affordable rod great at recovering heavy line
This is a solid rod! I fish every single day and I need a real workhorse that I can really work on a variety of saltwater fish. I swear when it comes to rods breaking, it never seems to happen from fighting a fish. The first night out with this rod, the wind knocked it over while I was changing flies, a small rock about the size of a golf ball rolled about 1/2” and tapped the rod tip... when I picked up the rod, I noticed it was cracked all the way around the top guide. When I touched the end, the tip dropped to the ground. Despite my frustration and swearing, I was still able to manage some very slowed down casts and landed a baby snook. Amazon sent a replacement quickly the next day and I had a replacement about a week later. Unfortunately, I had the rod repaired by then and kept using it. Now that tarpon season is over and I’m not swamped with work and fishing, I need to get that replacement sent back! At the end of the day, 1” less on that rod recovers the line significantly better with heavier saltwater flies and a shooting line. And the rod itself is a workhorse and extremely affordable (for a fly rod😜)
