The Human Half of Dog Training: Collaborating with Clients to Get Results : Vanfleet, Risë: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Want to be as good training the dogs' humans as you're with dogs? This is a must read. - Been studying many great (and some less great) books on dog behaviour and training, with the aim to become a professional dog trainer. Worried how on earth I would manage to teach people/owners, had been searching high and low for a book covering the human part of dog training, and then I found this book which has been invaluable reading. It's a well written book, easy to read and understand book covering every aspect of how to deal with human clients. Had a profound insight to what kind of trainer I want to become and feel it's now within my reach. Sure this book will be re-read many times. A big THANK YOU to Rise for sharing all your knowledge and making it such a joy to read. Review: Truly inspiring - Well written and easy to read. Rise guides you through the murky waters of motivating dog owners to train their dogs. The book is entertaining and takes you through modern cognitive behavioural training methods without getting bogged down in too many technicalities. An essential read for all dog training instructors.

Useful and accessible
I found this a very useful book and easy to understand. I think that if one is a dog trainer already using good skills in relation to the dogs it is very accessible, it shows how the skills one already has can be transfered to the human end of the lead and doesn't resort to jargon. I have put the book down with lots of ideas to work on and a resolve to re-visit it OFTEN

Easy to understand.
This is a very good book that is clearly written to give you an insight in how to teach people and understand why they may have difficulties teaching their dogs, and why you may have difficulties teaching them. It is well written and not full of jargon. A useful book if you are training people to train their dogs. There are not many books that cover this aspect .

The Human Half of Dog Training
Wonderful book. Author certainly knows her stuff. Definitely worth buying. As a dog trainer I find training dogs easy, it's the clients that are often difficult and this book gives plenty of good advise. Well done Rise from Lyn, Tammy and Twins.

An important addition to every dog trainer's book shelf. You can't help the dog if you can't work with their owner. This book explains how to get cooperation from dog owners and manage all the other human issues of dog training.

Génial ! Plus qu'un livre sur comment aborder la relation avec le client pour le mettre sur les rails du succès, c'est un livre de développement personnel ! On n'en ressort pas sans avoir été transformé ! :-)

Recent certified dog trainer graduate, I'm constantly learning from the pros whether it's by books like these or volunteering or taking extra specialized dog trainer courses. It just arrived so I haven't had a chance to read through word for word but I did scan through it and already I know I'm going to learn lots from it. I probably have over 50 dog trainer books, Karen Pryor, George Zak and many other books on dog behaviour, training, dog language, games and many more. This one I really like as it addresses the "real life" dealing with clients. In my dog training certification we also touched on this. This book is a nice compliment to that. Also I would highly recommend the book Culture Clash. It's a good book too.
