A small additive that makes a bigger-than-expected difference
This seemed like a gimmick but I added it to my arborist bag. On more than one occasion, it's been the difference between tying a random garbage knot, and checking the book for something designed for the task. I'm not an arborist by trade, so I forget the knots after a couple of months, and the simple ones in this booklet are a life saver, literally. There are also cool knots that I know I will never use, but they're fun to look at for a minute. The laminated 'pages' are great quality, I never think twice about throwing this into the tool bag.

I know my ohms law for many years but still have it printed on my meter box for those moments when you get a brain fart. Arborist's knots cheat cards are a similar quick reference, especially if working with a new helper. The only knot I didn't like was the trucker's hitch. Use that design and you will need to cut that knot with a blade to release it. As a shipper/receiver I have tied down many loads with ropes or straps using a trucker's cinch and it releases with a single pull on the loose end.
