I bought 13 Beavers mainly as a family board game for mixed ages, and overall it’s been a really fun addition to game nights. The rules are very easy to learn, so we were able to start playing quickly without a long setup or complicated explanations. It works well for both kids and adults, and the mix of strategy and luck keeps it engaging without being too intense. The gameplay is light-hearted and moves at a good pace, which helps keep everyone involved throughout. It’s the kind of game that works well for casual evenings or holidays when you want something simple but entertaining. The components feel solid enough for regular use, and the theme is fun and accessible, especially for younger players who enjoy animal-themed games. Overall, it’s an enjoyable, easy-to-learn family game that strikes a nice balance between fun, luck, and light strategy. A great choice for relaxed game nights. 5/5.

'A really great game' says my 8yo! We've been enjoying it since Christmas with 2, 3 and 4 players. Games last maybe 20 mins and are fast-paced so nobody loses interest. The game is very luck dependent so grown-ups don't need to deliberately lose - it's easy to come from behind and win, or have a great opening streak and lose regardless! A perfect game for a quick break from screen time or a pre-bedtime game, or as part of a bigger 'game night' or whatever. The elements have fun illustrations and the game pieces are more substantial than I'd expected. I don't often write reviews but I'm very happy to highly recommend this, we've had great fun and I'll certainly buy other games from this company.

I bought this for my grandchildren, and we had a lot of fun playing it. It was quick to set up, and we soon grasped the rules, so I would recommend it as a good choice of family game.

We picked up 13 Beavers to play with our five- and seven-year-olds, and while it was enjoyable at first, it hasn’t quite become a repeat favourite. The game is simple enough to learn quickly, which is a plus when playing with younger children, and the core higher-or-lower card mechanic is easy to grasp, keeping things moving at a decent pace. There are some genuinely fun elements for kids - the fishing and lava features in particular went down well - and the overall theme and artwork are bright and appealing. The components feel solid and well made, and everything packs away neatly into the box, which is always appreciated. That said, the gameplay can feel a little disjointed, and after a handful of sessions the novelty wore off. While it held their attention initially, my children haven’t really asked to go back to it in the same way they do with some other games. It’s not that it’s bad - more that it doesn’t quite have the replayability needed to keep it in regular rotation.

Bit disappointing to be honest. Easy to learn the game but so much time wasted, stuck in the lava, whilst trying to guess the correct number. Got tedious pretty quickly. Also, couldn’t see the point of the wolves? If there was a penalty of some kind for choosing an “awake” wolf, I would get it but there isn’t. The rules also say that finding a sleeping wolf allows all beavers safe passage through but, as far as I can tell, they have safe passage anyway. So, to reiterate, what purpose do the wolves serve? The fishing bit is quite fun, probably because it reminds me of magnetic fishing games I had as a child!

Great family game

Very easy to understand, simple rules, and is a quick game which makes it good for kids. My 5 year old loves playing and it keeps my 9 year old with ASD interested for at least two play throughs. The overall look is great with bright colors and fun beaver illustrations. The fishing rod is a cute touch and the fish are of good quality. I do wish there was more obstacles on the board to give it more difficulty.

This game is so much fun and the whole family loved playing it grom the ages of 5-57.

I saw this game being played on NRB and found it easy enough to pick up and explain to others. I’ve brought this to friend and family game nights and it’s always a great time of laughter and shouts of joy and frustration! The mechanics make sense and give players lots of choices of how much they want to push their luck with lava, fishing, and riding the rapids being elements to keep in mind. The beavers are also very cute!

Nice game for a family with children to play. Kinda slow for adults.
