Uniformity in the kitchen/EDITEDโบ๏ธ
Matches the kettle from the same brand. Well you have to...donโt you? Even though, as โOther Halfโ pointed out...when not in use, our toaster lives in the cupboard! However, at the discounted price (at the time of order), there was little else said. It is better than my previous toaster, mainly because my favourite bread (which is longer than most slices) fits in, so eliminates the need to turn it. With generous sized slots in terms of width, too, it does a grand job with my 'doubler' (2-slices frozen together), resulting in a nice dark shade for me (browning level 5) on the outside and still soft on the inside, ready for a spreading of marmalade. There is slightly more leverage in raising shorter toast (e.g. milk-roll rounds or crumpets) at the end, and the pop-up, when ready, is not quite as noisy. I found that typically โnewโ odour disappeared after a couple of dry runs on the maximum setting, as advised in the instructions (image below refers). IMO, the 800W, 2-slice toaster would make an ideal gift. It comes complete with instruction booklet in a sturdy, branded cardboard box (no plastic-type, inner packaging) measuring around 18 cm square x 33 cm, and has a 2-year (limited) guarantee (+ 1 extra year, with online registration). Presented in a pleasant lemon shade and textured for the main part, the contrast is a shiny silver colour; the brand-name nicely subdued in white on one long side. The flex is also white (yay!) and a good length at around 85 cm (not including the UK plug). There is an in-built cord tidy on the base. Surprisingly lightweight in hand, the 2-slice toaster I received measures roughly 28 cm overall (allowing for the protruding knob) x 16.5 cm wide x 19 cm tall, standing sturdy on 4 little โfeetโ. The 2.5 cm diameter knob has browning levels โ1-6โ, the numbers in a pale grey shade, with an audible click, on selection. The 'stop/eject' button glows blue when the toaster is on, as does the โcook from frozenโ button. The crumb collector is a reasonable size and is located on the base, at the back (the short side opposite to the controls). It simply slides out. I find that the 'polypropylene' surface is easy to clean with a damp cloth; the silver coloured areas requiring an occasional buff-up. Now...if it came with a slot cover like my very, very old toaster did, I would be ecstatic, for then I would show it off alongside the aforementioned kettle. For me, though, I worry too much about dust and the likes that float around a busy kitchen. However, as few toasters do these days, I canโt otherwise fault it, especially at the discounted price. Other colours are currently available. Any problems, I will be back! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<EDIT:25/05/25>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> No problems to report, and at the same discounted price, I have now ordered the ๐๐๐จ๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ง๐ฎ version for a very special person in my life!

Pretty pink toaster that toasts evenly
Very nice little, compact sized toaster. I use with toaster bags to help keep the toaster clean. I place cheese and marmite toastie, (no butter) in a bag and then squash the bag as flat as possible so it fits in the toaster easily. I donโt think this would handle very thick bread but as I only buy thin slice that doesnโt matter to me. I only use level 3 which is the halfway mark for heating/browning and it toasts evenly through the toaster bags. It does seem to take longer than previous toasters I have owned but that isnโt a problem for me.

Toasts well, but slots are too short
Overall, Iโm happy with this toaster: it heats up quickly, gives a nice, even toast, and looks neat on the counter. Controls are simple and consistent, so itโs easy to get the level of browning you want without guesswork. The one drawback, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the slot height. A standard slice of bread doesnโt fit fully โ thereโs about 2โ3 cm left sticking out at the top, which means you either end up with a pale strip or you have to flip the slice halfway through. Itโs not a deal-breaker, but it is a little inconvenient for everyday use. If you mostly toast smaller loaves, crumpets, or bagels, youโll probably love it. For regular, taller slices, just be prepared to flip or run a short extra cycle. Good performance and tidy design, but I wish the slots were a touch taller.

A Gluten-Free Breakfast Lifesaver โ My Experience with the Russell Hobbs Eden Toaster
So hereโs the dealโbeing gluten-free isnโt just about swapping out bread, itโs about dealing with the fact that gluten-free bread behaves like some weird science experiment gone wrong. Itโs smaller, crumblier, and has this annoying habit of either refusing to toast or instantly turning into charcoal. After far too many mornings scraping blackened crumbs off my old toaster, I figured it was time for an upgrade. Enter the Russell Hobbs Eden 2 Slice Toaster. First off, it looks great. I mean, who doesnโt love a raspberry-colored toaster? It adds a nice pop of color to my kitchen, which is mostly full of boring white appliances. But more importantly, it actually works with gluten-free bread. The high-lift feature is a game-changer because gluten-free slices are usually tiny, and in my old toaster, Iโd have to perform some delicate finger acrobatics to get them out without burning myself. With this one? Just pop the lever up and grab your toastโno singed fingertips required. The browning settings are also surprisingly accurate. With gluten-free bread, you kind of have to find the sweet spotโtoo light and itโs still weirdly gummy, too dark and itโs rock-hard. After some trial and error, I found setting 4 works perfectly for my brand of bread, getting that golden, crisp edge while still keeping the inside soft enough to spread butter without ripping the slice apart. And letโs talk about the frozen bread function because I pretty much live off frozen gluten-free loaves (seriously, why is fresh GF bread always twice the price?). This thing actually defrosts and toasts evenly, which is a miracle in itself. I used to have to defrost my bread separately before toasting, which was just another morning hassle I didnโt need. Now, I throw a frozen slice in, press the button, and boomโperfect toast. I also appreciate the removable crumb tray because gluten-free crumbs seem to multiply like rabbits. My old toaster had a crumb collection that was basically a fire hazard, but this oneโs easy to slide out and clean. Overall, I wasnโt expecting muchโI just wanted something that wouldnโt turn my gluten-free toast into a breakfast crime scene. But this toaster has actually made mornings easier, and for that, Iโm officially a fan. If youโre gluten-free and tired of battling tiny, unpredictable slices, this one is 100% worth it.

Avoid
Terrible quality control. How they can send a toaster that doesn't stay down when lever pressed from the factory is beyond belief. I bought it because Russell Hobbs is a well known name and expected a good product. I returned it for a full refund. I won't buy anything from Russell Hobbs again.

Broke after 2 months
Broke within 2 months. I was even away for 3 weeks during this time but now I have to contact manufacturer since 30 days have passed. The mechanism wont stay down when I put my toast in. Cheap and nasty, shame cause I loved the colour and matching kettle
