Truly inspiring
"The Immortals of Meluha" by Amish takes readers on a mesmerizing journey back to 1900 BC, exploring the land of Meluha during the Indus Valley Civilization. Amish's imaginative reimagining of history and mythology is truly inspiring. The concept of a once-great empire facing peril and the emergence of a hero amidst chaos captivated my imagination from the very beginning. The story's relatability lies in the portrayal of the protagonist, Shiva. A rough-hewn Tibetan immigrant, Shiva's internal struggle between destiny, duty, and love resonates with the modern reader. This relatability adds depth to the character and allows readers to connect with his journey on a personal level. Amish's writing style is engaging and seamlessly blends historical and mythological elements. The intricate setup of the world and the political turmoil of Meluha paint a vivid picture of the era. The fusion of historical details with mythical elements creates a unique reading experience that keeps you hooked. "The Immortals of Meluha" is an intriguing mix of history, mythology, and adventure. It presents a fresh perspective on ancient legends and questions the essence of heroism. The book's ability to transport readers to a bygone era, coupled with its relatable characters and engaging narrative, make it a remarkable read. Personally, I expected a blend of mythology and history, and the book exceeded my expectations by adding an element of suspense and intrigue. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a unique spin on mythology and history, intertwined with a captivating tale of heroism and destiny.

Good and Interesting read, a learning experience
Author did a great work on the book. Good writing style with good story telling. Couldn't help but post below chain of thoughts that kept running through my mind after completing the book. Sometimes, it's not about what's being said. It's about what's being unsaid Things are not always as they seem to appear. It depends on how we process things. How we look at them, the reflection of our thoughts with the possibility of different scenarios Sometimes people may not exactly be evil but it is possible they are different. Each individual is different with different thought process and reaction mechanism. If things don't go as we expect, if people are not the way we expect or assume them to be, it doesn't mean they are wrong and we are right. Some things are not always black and white. Things are not always Right or wrong. Certain things are definitely subjective. There's always room for several possible reasons and explanations. If people keep religious label aside and start following things that are in it, life becomes easier Sometimes you believe something to be so true and it can be a shattering experience to realise that it's opposite of that or it's not exactly that. Not the end of the world. Life still goes on. Carry that learning even if that burdens your soul by carrying significant weight. Learn that things are not always as they seem to be. People are not always as they appear to be. It's what they let you see. If we look past that, we may learn something significant.

Hats-Off to the Imagination of Author....!!!
The author has very beautifully describes that what If Mahadev was not born as Mahadev (God of god's) ? What If he was just born like any other ordinary Person? The book is based on the belief that perhaps the actions, the deeds and karma are the only deciding factors in transforming an ordinary man to devo ke dev Mahadev - God of Gods. The Immortals of Melhua is the first Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi. What makes this book, really a good read is the simplicity of language and an easy lucid narrative style. The plot hardly ever slows down enough for the reader to lose interest as one event leads to another. Here Shiva is a person who was not born a God but was thrust into the role of one and fulfilled His destiny by making all the right choices and doing his duty towards mankind. If one thinks about this, we all have the potential to fulfil our destinies by following the path of righteousness too. This books gives a very clear and deep meaning to our thinking that What is perceived as evil by someone may not necessarily be so in the eyes of another. As the Mahadev learns, 'the difference between two dissimilar ways of life gets portrayed as a fight between good and evil; just because someone is different doesn't make them evil." The book also focus light on how the Superstitions can only be countered by another stronger belief. It briefly concise that a society without security ther could not be any intellects, businessman, genius, artist or any other form of Talent exists. But, however Flexibility in society can give them some space and help them to discover n grow their true potential. No doubt A completely original plot brilliantly mythology, history and fiction to create a mesmerizing saga on the mind of any readers. Whether this book fires your imagination to dwells on larger questions of life or not, perhaps the "Page-turner" term was surely coined for such book. Definitely a story which will remain among the reader for longer time. Although it has a lots of twist n turns somewhere on the middle you may feel some sort prediction. But at last both the story and it's lessons will remain on your heart forever.

Title : The Immortals of Meluha Author : Amish Tripathi Genre : Mythological fiction Rating : โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ/ 5 โApparently the earth sometimes thinks of the possibility of coming closer to the sunโ said Sati. โBut she canโt do that. She is so base and his brilliance so searing, that she will cause destruction if she draws him closer.โ โI disagree,โ said Shiva. What if Shiva, โThe God of Godsโ, โ The Mahadevโ is not a God but merely a human being just like us. Shiva, the chief of Gunas, who resides in Mount Kailash with his tribe, accepts the proposal to migrate to Meluha, the richest and the most powerful empire in India, to lead a peaceful and secure life as compared to Mount Kailash where the security of his tribe is always in danger. On the day when they enter Meluha, Ayurvati, one of the best doctors in the world gives Shiva and his tribe members Somras. After consuming Somras Shivaโs throat turns blue which shocks Ayurvati. Soon he is sent along with Nandi to Devagiri, the capital city of Meluha, to meet Emperor Daksha. Emperor Daksha, a Suryavanshi, is in search of the Neelkanth(the one with blue throat) for years. He believed that only the Neelkanth has the efficiency and skills to save the Suryavanshis from the evil Chandravanshis and Nagas. He also discovered that the Chandravanshis have amalgamated with the Naga tribe, the most dreadful and dangerous tribe, to destroy Suryavanshis forever. Emperor Dakshaโs search finally ends when he discovers that Shiva is the Neelkanth. The blind faith of the Meluhans on the Neelkanth and the burden to fulfil their expectations makes Shiva doubt his own skills and efficiency to fight against the evil. Would Shiva be successful in bringing victory to Suryavanshis against the evil ? My Review : This book takes you on a beautiful journey of Shiva, his struggles in discovering his true self, his efficiency as a warrior and his undying love for Sati. It is a perfect mixture of fiction and ancient facts. This book is a perfect read for all the mythology lovers. The authorโs style of writing is such that you wonโt be able to put the book down. I was so engrossed in the book that certain instances just broke me down. I totally loved the book and will soon pick up the second book โThe Secret of Nagasโ.

Amazing read!
๐ผ The book was absolutely how I have had heard about it. This was one of those books which made me restless until I finished the book. It's an absolute masterpiece. I know there have also been very critical comments on this books. But this book was a great one for me. ๐ผThis series has 3 books in it : First is The Immortals of Meluha, second is The Secret of the Nagas and the third one is The Oath of the Vayuputras. ๐ผI never had such a huge crush on a fiction character. The part where Amish describes about Shiva dancing was beautiful which eventually got me crazy. And you know its a great book when you can see the story as though its happening right in front of you. This book is beautifully written and as you are on the verge of finishing this book, the end puts you into this suspense and restlessness as to what the second book holds. This book makes you helpless and puts you into a hype to read the next book to solve the mystery and thats what exactly happened with me . Im so glad to have read this book. As a child I always thought if the ones we worship were normal humans like us how would their life be? And the author has got my imagination in this book. ๐ ๐๐๐๐/5

Buy it, but not because it's story of lord shiva
Hello friends, This is the first book of โThe Shiva Trilogyโ by author Amish. The trilogyโs other two books areโThe secret of Nagasโ and โThe Oath of Vayuputrasโ All the three titles has gained a great popularity in Indiaโฆ The concept of HINDU god โLord Shivaโ also Mahadev as a common Tibetan is catchyโฆ This book haves 417 pages consisting 26 chapters This very first book tells about how Shiva (here a common man) is trying to protect Tribeโฆ And what he does to protect themโฆ All characters are very well crafted and the character of lord shiva is kept very interesting as the lord Shiva is actually describedโฆ Immortals of meluha also describes the journey of shiva and his tribe to The MELUHA which was earlier living near a holy lake (Lake Mansarovar) The story is very well craftedโฆ The first book unveils the event of Mysteriously Shivaโs throat turning blue on the consumption of Soma (a drink for long life and good health). Realisation by citizen of Meluha and their king that Shiva is the chosen oneโฆ meeting with Sati, daughter of the king of Meluha A Glimpse of Evil Now in the journey, a feeble assumption of what evil is and who are evil people is made and shiva acts accordingly. Now the question is what will happen nextโฆ Is the assumption of true evil correct? Will shiva be able to find what made his throat turn blue? Will he able to find and remove evil out of equation? The book is interesting and indulgingโฆ The details of narration complements the beautiful story very well. Various characters are introduced in the first book well, many are told but kept in suspenseโฆ My opinion : if you just read this first book, you wonโt feel how good this story isโฆ I liked the way story is wovenโฆ Youโll realise several distributed parts connecting when you read the whole series (well youโll realise by the second part

A Pacy read: philosophy blended with histroy, myth and action!
This is a really fun book. Amish clearly knows his Hindu/Indian history, tradtions and philosophy. He combines them well to tell a gripping fast paced story of how Shiva in the form of a man, idylically lliving in the Himalays is convinced to help rescue of the Meluhans living in the Indus-Saraswati plains of 4000 years ago. Phrophesised as the "Neelkanth", he reluctantly takes on his destiny and embarks on an adventure across the geography of ancient India. The story is peopled by characters and places that many who are conversant with the traiditons of India will be well aware of. The use of Hindu philosphical ideas, and of Sanskrit names and phrases is delicately woven into the story with clear expanation of the context. A good read! Looking forward to the others in the trilogy!
