Purr-fect!
Exactly what I was looking for - small scissors to trim ear hair that would be safe, sharp, and quick. I hadn't realized these have fine serrations that help the fur stay in place as it's being trimmed. No drama, quick trim, safe, 100% recommended!

Finally!! These cut kitty fur clumps like a hot knife through butter!
I have a long haired tortoise cat who resists grooming and develops clumps of matted fur at the base of her back and around her neck. It's been a real struggle to groom her, and since brushing doesn't get through the tangles, I have to cut away the clumps using conventional scissors with sharp pointed ends. Given her tendency to resist my attacks on her clumps, it's been a bit scary at times and the scissors, although quite sharp, often meet their match in her clumps. These scissors work like a charm, slicing through her clumps like a hot knife through butter. She barely notices because they cut so quickly and easily and there's no risk that she'll be injured in the process. And the price is great for the high quality. A nifty grooming tool for kitty!

Great and safe scissors for pets
Perfect scissors for trimming my Shih TZU. It fits nicely in my hand, the tip shape is very safe when you work near ears and eyes, good quality. Great value. I tried it on him and could not believe how easily it cut through the thick hair that this breed has. Highly recommended.

One small (ha ha ha ha) flaw
These Scaredy Cut 4.5-inch pet-trimming scissors work just fine unless your thumb is too big, which mine is, and I don't have particularly large thumbs for an adult male. The two identical, oval-shaped finger holes, one or the other of which I need to put my thumb into, measure 16.8 millimeters in width and 19.7 mm in height according to my several caliper-assisted measurements. I can get only about 10 millimeters of my thumb through the hole, whereas if I grab the nearest surgery-grade medical instrument, a hemostat made for adults I happen to have lying around that has holes of the same shape but a height of 23.3 mm and a width of 19 mm, my thumb naturally sticks through about 21 mm, which is over twice as far. Those 11 millimeters are the difference between clumsy and coordinated, between getting the angle a little wrong and having to adapt to it on the one hand (ha), and, on the other hand (ha ha), getting it just right and not having to think about it. If you think about it, it is true that you also don't want the finger holes too large in either dimension either, because then you lose control of the precise angles and distances over which you want to maintain such precise control, especially when, for example, you're trimming around your koala's eyes or your giraffe's stalks. You want the finger holes to be shaped and sized just right, so they not only close but also open and merely hold still just as you expect, without your having to adjust for them or even having to think about them. There's a reason scissor-type medical instruments such as hemostats and iris scissors and even micro dissecting scissors -- whose pivot-to-tip length can be nearly 3 times shorter than the 4.5-inch Tiny Trim's 42.36 millimeters -- still all have the same size finger holes. The reason is that over the last couple centuries people who design these instruments have figured out through gradual trial and error the best dimensions for the finger holes. They've all got it just right, and there's little room (ha ha ha) for improvement, i.e., any change from the standard is open to question. The designers of this product decided that all those centuries of experimentation and improvement were a little bit wrong and went with a smaller size, and for this I subtract 1 star. If I could subtract only 51% of a star I would. Perhaps there's a reason for the small opening that I can't figure out. Children have smaller fingers than adults, but obviously that's not the reason the finger holes are so small. Females have smaller fingers than males, but surely that's not the reason the finger holes are so small. As I say, I can't figure out this seemingly poor design choice (but then again I am not an expert on scissor-type finger-hole dimensions). But as I also say, otherwise these scissors are just what I wanted, which is why they rate 449 out of 500 stars. Also, can anyone confirm that it matters whether the serrated blade or the smooth blade is the one closer to the scalp? Does it make a difference, and if so which is better? Thanks.

Dog scissors he actually tolerates really well
My wife and I have had Malteses for almost 30 years. We love them. Our first lived to be almost 18 years. Our second only lived to be 4 years old (died of lymphoma only 4 years old) a few years ago. And we got our current dog, Brady. He is 5 years old. My wife died and I have Brady. He loves to be brushed, but he is an absolutely nut. The one common attribute amount them is that Maltese’s dogs have hair and need to be groomed regularly. The hair grows continuously and does not shed. Anyhow, I get Brady groomed about 3-4x a year. But we live in ny and in the winter I keep the house at about 65° so I prefer to keep the house on the cool side, about 65°. And his hair long. But Brady’s face gets very long, kind of like a miniature sheepdog with hair over his eyes. That has bothered me, but I don’t want him trimmed. He should have a long coat to keep him warm. Recently I was looking for a way to keep his face trimmed (he looks like a small sheepdog if you don’t). We have a dog trimming kit, which he hates). So I looked for an alternative. I found these scissors. He actually both accepts them and seems to appreciate the results. Now I can trim all around his face, so there is no hair in his eyes. He seems to tolerate it very well and appreciate it. I think that because they are very sharp and have the serrated edges they don’t bother him, he doesn't mind them. I have trimmed his face twice and he has been great. I really think that now he appreciates the trim.

Love this trimmer
Okay, so I discovered one issue about my new scissors-- the tip does not cut well at all. It looks like there is a small space between the scissors at the last 1/2 inch of the tip. I tried my defected scissors, and that one actually cuts through all the way. Not too much to complain about since I have that one to fall back on, despite my initial disappointment. Either way, great scissors, and excellent service. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I first received this trimmer two days ago, and apparently was sent a defected one. I left a review about it yesterday, and was contacted IMMEDIATELY (wow!). After being contacted, they made good by sending me another one right away. When I mean right away, I mean, I checked my mail this morning and there was a box with "Tiny Trim" in it! I had just e-mailed them yesterday, so Matthew, who I believe is their representative did an amazing job of easing any stress or issues that I had. As far as the scissors go, as soon as I received it, I gave it quick go with my little doggie. I did a small trim around her eyes and under her paws. I just wanted to try it out, and I can't be happier. The serrated edges truly make a difference from any other scissors I've bought for my dog. Yes, it is small, and you might have a difficult time using it if your fingers are the size of a jumbo hot dog, but it works absolutely great. It didn't tear at my dogs fur, but gripped it as it cut it, which is very helpful when you need to make the right cut around the eyes or paws. This is a must have addition for your dogs grooming supplies. It doesn't even cost that much, and you have nothing to lose because customer service is speedy and effective! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is my previous review: I haven't used my trimmer yet, but as soon as I saw it, I realized that it looks like it's in terrible condition. The pink paint looks like someone painted it on with nail polish, then got it on the steel part of the scissors. Part of the logo on the scissors have been scraped/rubbed off already. It looks like this belongs in a "2nds" pile. I still haven't used it. I'm going to wait to see if I get contacted by anyone, because maybe they're all in this condition?

Recommend
Perfect scissors to cut the straggly bits of hair around my dogs eyes, the round tips reassure me that I am not going to damage him and the small size makes them easy to use.

Brilliant wee scissors
I had already bought the scaredy cut kit which is great but found it hard to get round my dog's ears, paws etc, with it, so I ordered these tiny trim scissors. These are brilliant for trimming round his ears, the pads of his feet and in between his nails. He hates getting these done even at the groomers but with these scissors he sits nice and calmly and then falls asleep while I finish. There is no fear of cutting him with the rounded tips and they are very sharp as they cut well especially through a few matted bits he had. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to save money going to the groomers or for in between visits to groomers.

Fake scaredycut
These don’t look like real scaredycut to me. They say made in Pakistan but scardycut is made in the USA so I think they are overpriced
