Lil devious "tool/toy"
Initally bought this with the intent to piss of them squirrels that yappin' surrounding my tree stand during deer season. Since then i've had just been messing around with clay pellets and just seeing to what extent my aim can get to. This thing is a lil fun doohickey to mess around with if you got dead time or something. The quality is very good and I have little to no compaints at all, the only complaint being I wish it came with more bands (only 2 pairs) at its price point but to be fair I ain't worth crying over. The reference points are easily distinguishable and shooting it; wether it be standing/tilted/sideways, is pretty easy and comfortable and allows for an easier/faster time for progressing the learning curve. I was about to cheap out but am glad I didn't, would buy again if I ever needed to. "Good 'ole blunt force trama" Pros - Superb quality and build with hardware and accessories - Egronomics and handling is quite comfortable and is carved out well for different postitions/rest points - handslap rarely ever occurrs and can shoot for hours - Reference points are very defined and can assist in the learning curve Cons - Price per accessories - The price is decently valid for the overall build, just wish it came with a lil more more accessories (mainly more pair of bands or something, ya only get 1 clay band and 1 multi-purpose band)

The perfect slingshot.
Knowing how to shoot a slingshot is most of the battle. I have had several slingshots over the years and even bought another one on Amazon thinking it would make me better, it didn't. I was not until I did an internet search and watched a video on how to shoot a slingshot I realized the error of my ways. I highly suggest you do the same before you buy another slingshot. You will save yourself time and money. There are tons of different slingshots out there. Ones with round rubber tubes and ones with flat bands. I find flat rubber bands tend to be more accurate by the way. Some sligshots even have springs added to them that look cool but do they really add more power? Not really sure. Anyway, after researching many different slingshots I settled on the one I thought was best. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. I even bought those darts for another slingshot I have to go fhishing with but thank God it looked a little sketchy to me. The part of the dart that comes in contact with the rubber bands or leather pouch had sharp edges so I never used them. I have since seen those same darts stuck in people's hands. Fyi...Never use them in your slingshot!!! Arrows are better, safer and, much more accurate then the darts. After much research I settled on this particular slingshot for many reasons. For one reason was the way the bands attached to the slingshot. They were easy to change out and they could be mounted over the top or around the sides. I find around the sides better to aid in aiming. The second reason was the body allowed the user to use multiple hand positions to find the one that best suits them. Third was the company themselves. They have many different products relating to slingshots and they are not from some other country. They are a US company. Anyway, after learning how to shoot I had no problem hitting a one inch target at 25 feet in no time with over 90% accuracy. I am now shooting at 50 feet and would say I am 60 to 70% accurate on the one inch target. Practice makes perfect folks. If you do not get out there and push yourself to get better you never will. I was in the military and shot a lot and I do mean a lot. Thousands of rounds I shot through my rifle and my pistol. The part that I am most proud of is my marksmanship with the 9mm Beretta. At 100 yards and with 90 to 95% accuracy, I could hit a 12" target. Believe me or not, I don't care. My point is this. I fyour not going to put in the time to make yourself better at something then you will never get better. You see, after a while you develope what is called a natural line of sight. It is like muscle memory. After a while I could just raise I rifle not even using the sights and could hit a man sized target under 100 yards. Believe me, comes in really handy when doing CQB. Learning to shoot a slingshot is no different and trust me when I say this. If you put in the time you too will develope that muscle memory and know exactly what I am talking about. I originally bought the clay ammo but they only last so long. I now use a white sheet as a back drop to catch the steel shot I am using so I can reuse the ammo over and over again. I have really enjoy shooting my slingshot. So much so I prefer it over going to the range and spending $100 or more on ammo. So folks, that is my honest review and I hope it helps.

A good slingshot makes a big difference.
I'm a gun guy but since retiring and moving a couple years ago I don't have the access to ranges as I once did. So, while in a local sporting goods store I picked up a cheap slingshot to plink in my back yard. I have a very OCD personality so once I find something I like I go a little nuts with it. Anyway, while watching some videos on how to shoot I came across a recommendation to buy a Scout XT, so I did. Let me tell you, what a difference! After watching the recommended video on tuning the bands, my first shot at 15 yards was a strike on a paint can I'd placed out there. I was shocked becauae with the cheap one I had I was good for maybe 50% hits. This frame and grip and bands tuned to my draw made all the difference. I have pretty small hands so doing a "pinch grip" is kinda difficult but the "thumb brace" grip feels very natural. I'm thinking about grabbing a Scout Lt as it is said to be smaller so might help my grip. Anyway, only gripe I have about this slingshot are the band pouches. Using 1/2" is kinda difficult and even 3/8 can be a little tough. They work but I think they could definitely be better. The little target that comes with the set is next to useless and plan to buy more ammo as what is provided will last about 10 minutes. Overall the slingshot is awesome, the rest of the stuff in the pack is worthless.

Great product. Will buy again.
Great product! First impression -I was skeptical at first after reading about the "flimsy" plastic band fasteners before I purchased this product. I decided to get it as it had the most versatile band mounting options (over the top, or around the sides.) After installing the bands I realized that the only way the previous reviewer could have broken them is if he over-tightened the plastic and stripped it out. This can be done if you are fearful of the bands slipping and tend to really crank of the screw past the point where it can't screw in any further. I found that moderate tension holds the bands perfectly without slippage and still not stripped plastic. They manufacturer even puts in an owners manual and installation guide for installing the bands correctly. To me this added a professional touch and value to my purchase. Shooting Session - I was shooting 3/8" steel ball ammo and within minutes I was shooting 1-2" groups at 10 yards with this product. Given that I have only been shooting a week, this is realistic for me. I am a male standing at 6'2" and 250lbs. While the large grip didn't feel uncomfortable, I liked shooting with the smaller handle more. The product did feel like it was made with a high amount of quality control as there were not any noticable machining marks on the fiberglass. While shooting, the ergonomics felt great when at full draw and the bands and pouch were great. I will say that after about 400 rounds or so, the bands popped off the pouch. They didn't break, the string that held it on just came untied. All I did was get a piece of string and retie it and it was good and shooting again. It was just a small hiccup that was definitely not a huge deal. The bands are still holding up well and I am loving this slingshot!

Hasn't left my EDC bag!
Several months back, while on a crazy trip ctoss country scooter trip, I stoped by a Walmart to get hand warmers. Right next to the warmers was a 5 dollar slingshot that I ended up purchasing to have something to plink with (though slingshots definitely do more than "plink.") Anyway, I got back into the hobby and decided to invest in a higher quality sidearm. Allow me to save you the time we all use in do in reviewing literature and video product review online. The products by flippinout slingshots are amazing! They only have the scout on amazon but they have several beautiful artisan ones on their website. I wasn't as interested in in visual appeal so I went with their popular, durable and versatile scout. I'll do pros and cons... Pros: -comes with bands and pouch -The forks have indents for a variety of bands and attachment options. -Durability- It's made of fiberglass reinforced resin... don't worry about it ever breaking. -Comfort- The palm swell is perfect and, again refering to versatility, it is shaped to accomodate either of the three holding styles (hammer, pinch or thumb assisted.) -Fast shipping Cons: -If you are planning on carrying it in your pocket, it is a bit larger than their other models but still much smaller and carryable than the bent fork models you find in big box stores. -I haven't really noticed it but some have said the edges are somewhat sharpish, which would affect you if you use the pinch grip. I honestly wouldn't be too concerned by this, though, because that's something that can be solved with some sandpapering. I would say go with a course grit and get it roughly how you like it before smoothing it back out with a fine grit. All in all, if you want cheap and durable, you can go to Walmart. If you want to add versatility, comfort and pride of ownership, get the scout. Oh, and on a side note- if you have a bigger budget and want more style/ visual appeal, go to flippinout's actual website (flippinoutslingshots.com) and brows their other offerings. It's a small company but there's a ridiculous number of different models and designs.

Kick-butt slingshot!
My last slingshot was one I made back in high school in the 70's. it was cut from a piece of 5/8" plywood, sanded and I attached latex rubber tubing to the frame. It was pretty good. This SimpleShot Scout XT Slingshot is downright frightening with how much power it puts on target. I set it up per the great videos on YouTube and took an old cardboard box, wadded up and stuffed some paper in it to act as a backstop, and proceeded to shoot one of the steel balls at the box. I was confused, because the ball was not in the box. I suddenly realized that it went into the box, through the paper backstops and out the back of the box. Thankfully there was nothing breakable or that would bleed on the far side of that box. Sheesh - this thing is powerful. It does take work to master. I ordered a package of 1000 bearings to shoot with it and am working on my form and aim. I strongly recommend that you watch the videos on the RIGHT way to hold the slingshot. I discovered that I was doing it wrong for as long as I have used a slingshot and my accuracy went way up when I started holding it right. This company makes a dynamite product - I believe you could easily hunt small game with this thing.

SO FUN
So much fun, easy to use, adjusting band resistance is super easy. Lots of fun, accuracy is awesome once you get used to it. Feels like handle will last forever, Bands have 500 shots and going strong, super comfortable to hold and grip.

Love this
Great product. Only thing is I'd like a stronger band out the gate. Can always shorten it I suppose. The science behind their product is so obvious it make me wonder why my catapults as a kid were tubes and hard to change. Good company. Check out their site for other products too.
