Dockyard 380-1000 Dockyard Carving Gouges, 5 Piece Set

The items were as expected. I've used these carving tools in the past at my brothers but never had a set of my own. I'm pleased with the service. I know the quality so all I can say is the vendor met there obligation of delivering the set to me.

These tools are great. They hold a very sharp edge well, and are perfect for small or detailed work. I cannot say enough good things about them. I use them in wood and clay, and they are perfect.

Although the quality of these tools gets 5 stars, it is disconcerting to find three different sizes in one package (a sealed package from Dockyard). I ordered the 3mm set and only three of the five tools were 3mm; one was 4mm and another was 5mm. Because they are a high quality tool and I have a need for the 3mm tools I ordered, I will keep them and never do business with Dockyard again unless I can see what's in the package before I buy it.

There are times when these guys come in handy in tight spots. The quality is so- so. Not nearly as sharp as I expected. I spent an hour putting a decent edge on all five. Having said that I have used them in a couple tight spots. They really are not for mainline carving, but it's nice to have them when I have that hard to reach spot.

These are apparently very useful for small jobs. The company is discontinuing these, I hear, so it's a good idea to pick them up while available.

Excellent book, as a beginner i found it to be easy to understand with simple step's to complete a carving.

Great tools, very sharp and ready to use.

Able to use right out of the package.
