Hypafix Gentle Touch - Soft Silicone Retention Tape for Extremely Fragile and Sensitive Skin (2" X 5 1/2 yd roll)

Much easier on the skin than regular hypafix. I've used a lot of regular Hypafix. It's great. It sticks extremely well, and is flexible and hypoallergenic. Unfortunately it sticks so well it can be difficult to remove. It's not waterproof so every time you need to shower or otherwise get wet you'll need to change it. Frequently changing it was ripping hairs and causing pain and redness. The gentle Hypafix costs significatly more than the regular version, and I wasn't sure if it would be sticky enough stay on. It turns out it is definitely worth the extra cost for anyone with sensitive skin, it removes so easily. It doesn't stay on quite as well as regular Hypafix, but for me it has been staying on well enough. It seems to stick better to skin than to itself, fyi. I also have purchased Mepitac, and I found it did not stick on well enough for areas that would receive any friction - under clothing for example. Also, it is not breathable and it seemed to be creating some kind of allergic reaction. Mepitac is supposed to be good for scars, and I had some success with this use of it before developing the allergic response, but for general bandaging this Hypafix gentle tape works much better and hasn't created any issues. I also purchased 3M gentle surgical tape, in the 2 inch width. This removed gently but would leave behind all its adhesive on my skin which is unpleasant and hard to remove. It also had an unpleasant perfume like odor, which may have been from storage conditions prior to shipping, but could have also been inherent to the adhesive. I also have used a lot of Tegaderm. Tegaderm is great in that it is waterproof, however, I've found that the edges can irritate skin and create more problems than it solves. It's not flexible and works best on areas of the body that do not stretch or move much. So I switched mainly to Hypafix except when I need something waterproof. Now that I've discovered the gentle version, I will primarily use it instead. In conclusion, if you have any difficulties with other tapes being too sticky, not flexible enough, or causing allergic reactions, I can highly recommend this gentle Hypafix tape. It's the best thing I've found so far and would be especially great for kids who hate band-aid removal.

This is the absolute best tape for extremely sensitive and fragile skin. It has been a struggle to find a tape that really works for me, causing no redness, no itching and no welts. While they only have two sizes available, the tape is simple enough to cut to the width/length needed. The tape backing is easy to remove and the tape adheres to the skin with ease and stays in place once you have secured it by gentle pressing to the skin. BONUSES: The tape removes gently, does not pull hair, and leaves NO residue. What a relief it is to have a tape that truly works and remains comfortable all day.

I have a rare form of pustular psoriosis on the bottoms of my feet. They get tons of blisters on them every day and can be quite painful! I was using a regular non-woven retention tape after putting medications and creams and such, and the other tapes, though good tapes in general, did not keep the medication and creams next to my skin and they were very sticky and irritated my fragile skin, and just were not working as I would like, but did not know there was a different choice.... until I was reading an article about manuka honey on my feet for my very hard to treat problem, and to use this tape... OMG!!! It adheres, but does not 'stick' if that makes sense... it stays in place, does not stick to my socks, and the silicone in it holds the honey on my skin, forcing it to absorb completely.... AND, it does not hurt or irritate my skin. Super easy to remove. The combination of this tape and the honey has made a drastic difference in my feet.... no pain, scales and blisters going down, no irritation... just wonderful! AND... yesterday, my poor pup, a black lab named Jed, injured the pad of one of his back legs.... I did not want to put anything on it that would hurt to remove with his fur and all.... so.... I used a small gauze pad with medicine and then used THIS TAPE to hold it in place. It is not elastic, so does not get too tight... it simply holds it in place, while keeping out dirt and such.... and comes off like a dream when changing dressings! A miracle tape for pets too! Win Win!

I stumbled across this tape while looking for silicone tape. I had surgery and my wounds have become delayed in healing so I need to keep them covered at all times. The paper tape would literally tear my skin off at each dressing change. I started using the blue silicone tape for sensitive skin and it did the exact same thing. This was while changing dressings twice a day. Finally I thought I would give this a try seeing as they advertised it for use in infants and elderly. This is one of the best things I have found. There is no pain in removal, no pulling and most importantly, no tearing of my sensitive skin. It allows some breathing but it is so soft and holds the dressings in place very well. The only thing I noticed that I don't care for is that it does not stick to itself very well. If I overlap the tape with a second piece, the overlap peels off but I just clip it off so it's not really a big issue. I highly recommend this tape for the most sensitive of skin types. I have purchased several boxes and never had any issues with it.

I have to go to the dermatologist often for biopsies so I end up needing to keep my wounds covered. I get red itchy welts from many adhesives. I heard about Hypafix and even though it’s pretty expensive I decided to give it a try. Zero irritation, it’s wonderful! I like that you can cut it to size instead of dealing with pre cut pieces. Just put gauze on the wound and then cover with an appropriate size. The roll lasts a while too.

A great tape for people with adhesive allergies and sensitive skin! Has a slight stretch to it making it perfect for contouring to the body and securing medical lines and tubes. Stays very well on non moving body parts when you trim the corners so they are rounded. Will definitely order again

Super good for sensitive skin but if your wound is anywhere that gets friction, the tape won’t stay on. I have super sensitive skin and allergy to adhesive. My skin didn’t react to this tape but since my skin wounds are on my thighs, the tape would not stay on but rolled up and exposed the wound. Maybe this would work better on a different location other than thighs/legs. The tape is super soft, kind of hard to get the backing off, and stretches just a little to be able to put a pressure dressing on.
