A delight, and great customer service
love this canister. And as you’ll see further down, I’ve come to love the company, whose customer service is astounding. I first heard of the Atmos when I saw it praised on YouTube by a marvelously thorough British coffee expert, James Hoffman. Who did wonder about paying $30 for a storage canister, but found it kept coffee fresher than any other option. I say that if you care about coffee — and maybe spent at least this much on a scale, and much more for a grinder — there’s no reason you wouldn’t want the Atmos. Which, on top of how well it works, is elegant, and a pleasure to use. After you close it, you twist the cap back and forth, until a button on top goes down, showing green from the space around it. This expels air from the inside, so your coffee sits in something approaching a vacuum. Then, when you want some coffee, you press a button on top, and air whooshes in. Now you can unscrew the top. And smell fresh coffee. Of course it won’t keep coffee fresh forever — nothing will — but it does a great job, And gives you confidence that it does, because it’s both elegant and solidly built, and because you feel the air going out as you twist (the twists keep feeling firmer), and because you can hear the air whooshing out. So, customer service! So many points for Fellow. When I bought this, it didn’t work. The seal wouldn’t stay sealed, for more than a few hours. When I told them about this, they replied the next day — on a weekend (!) — explaining what the problem was, and suggesting a fix. And then on their own initiative, they emailed two days later to ask if the fix had worked! It hadn’t, so they immediately sent me a new top for the thing , even sending email updates, as few smaller companies do, tracking the shipment and telling me when the item would arrive. The new top works. Happy customer. One note to anyone buying this, and a suggestion to the company. Expelling air from the thing can take as many as 30 twists. Nothing that comes in the box tells us that, so at first I thought the seal didn’t work at all. Maybe Fellow doesn’t want to scare us off, but still, since this is a fact about the canister (as they confirmed to me), we might as well be told. If anyone thinks 30 twists is too much for fresh coffee, that’s your choice. But I’m not bothered. I could even say I’m helping out with my coffee’s freshness, and getting a little morning exercise. 😊 Highly recommended, especially for coffee obsessive. I also btw have Fellow’s Ode coffee grinder, a truly thoroughbred piece of gear.

Effective cansiter for lengthening freshness of coffee beans.
I like these canisters because they keep freshly roasted coffee beans at peak freshness until I've used them up (usually 10 days from opening a bag). Some say the seals don't hold, but that's not ever been my experience (with three of them, over four years) -- what happens is the beans outgas CO2, which is a gas actually protective of coffee bean freshness. Freshly-roasted beans outgas quite rapidly, but this process slows down considerably (even for a year or more). The only reason for outside air to enter through the seal is if bean chaff or other small particles get stuck in the rim of the canister by the lid - hard to see, but running a fingernail covered with a facial tissue gets this crud out (usually, if you're pouring beans out of the canister vice spooning them out. Mine have worked wonderfully. The 700cc size canister will usually hold the coffee from a 12oz bag - in cases where it doesn't, using some of the coffee right away solves this problem (I never open a bag unless I'm going to use some right away anyway).

Do not recommend
I bought this in Februrary of this year and it worked quite well and I was impressed. It takes a bit of work to get the vaccuum seal, but it was working well. However now, it is pretty much useless. The vaccuum is not even lasting 24 hours. I seal my coffee beans n this canister but after three months of usage, the seal is just not functional and the vaccuum is lost. I would not recommend this product given this experience. This canister came highly reviewed in some review I read and it was the reason for the purchase. It is a nice canister and well constructed otherwise. The external surface is very smooth however and it is round. Hence it can be a bit slippery and not easy to grip - espaecially if on a high shelf. Having some grippy (non sticky and long lasting) material on the outside surface would help.

Simple, aesthetically perfect, and easy to use.
The Fellow Atmos Vacuum Coffee Canister has revolutionized the way I store and enjoy my coffee. If you're a coffee enthusiast who values freshness, flavor, and stylish design, this canister is a must-have addition to your kitchen. The 0.7-liter size is perfect for storing a significant amount of coffee beans or grounds, ensuring that I always have a supply of freshly preserved coffee at my fingertips. The vacuum-sealed technology is a game-changer – it keeps air out and flavor in, preserving the aromatic qualities of my coffee for an extended period. The design of the Fellow Atmos canister is sleek and modern, adding a touch of sophistication to my countertop. The clear glass body allows me to appreciate the beauty of my coffee beans while the matte black stainless steel lid provides a secure and airtight seal. The easy-twist lid mechanism is not only functional but also adds to the overall premium feel of the canister. I appreciate the thoughtful details, such as the date wheel on the lid, which helps me track the freshness of my coffee easily. The magnetic base is a convenient feature, ensuring that the lid stays attached during refills and doesn't get misplaced. Beyond coffee, I've also found the Fellow Atmos canister to be versatile for storing other dry goods. Its airtight seal makes it an ideal container for preserving the freshness of snacks, grains, or even tea leaves. In summary, the Fellow Atmos Vacuum Coffee Canister is a top-notch product that combines form and function. It's a stylish and effective solution for keeping coffee and other dry goods at their best. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just someone who appreciates quality kitchen essentials, this canister is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Good Vacuum Canister, Just Needs Occasional Re-Sealing
Quick Take: Nice-looking stainless steel canister that helps keep coffee fresh and is easy to use. The vacuum seal works well, though I find myself re-tightening it daily. What I Like: ✓ Stainless steel construction ✓ Manual vacuum system with no charging needed ✓ Green indicator makes sealing simple ✓ Holds vacuum well throughout the day What Could Be Better: → Vacuum seal slowly loosens over time and needs occasional re-tightening → Metal feels lighter than expected Final Thoughts: I’ve been using this for a couple weeks with whole coffee beans and overall it’s been working well. I like that it’s stainless steel and doesn’t require batteries or charging. The vacuum system is simple and easy to use, and the indicator helps show when enough pressure has been reached. I do notice I need to give the lid another twist every day or so to maintain the seal, but outside of that it’s been a solid addition to my coffee setup.

Great coffee container.
Great coffee container that helps keep your beans fresh but is simple to use. I like that the vacuum system is built in and doesn't require a separate pump.

Beat by the bean bag
EDIT — 9/1/24: These no longer hold any sort of seal/freshness. No matter how much I twist, it will "unseal" within the day. Obviously outside of the return date. I'l update again if Fellow reaches out with a solution. Original Review: Storing your coffee beans in their original bean bag keeps your coffee fresher than this ever could. Where this does shine is in the aesthetics. This is one of the most beautiful canisters to show off your beans to whoever will take a gander. Clean, simple design that works for minimalists and maximalists setups. While it’s twisting to seal mechanism is simple, does not require 2 pieces (Airscape), twisting a bunch everyday does grow tiresome. I want to streamline my daily coffee making and having to ‘do the twist’ does slightly keep me from pouring my coffee into my mouth as soon as I’d like. They say not to store ground coffee in it, but I’ve stored both whole beans and ground with success, so do what you like, the world is yours to grind. While it keeps your coffee fresh, it’s nowhere near as fresh as if you were to store it in its original coffee bean bag. Partly due to the air tightness and the glass exposing the beans to light. If I went back in time I may have just kept my beans in their bag rather than get too fancy. If you don’t get the glass one, it may keep the coffee, slightly fresher, but I like showing off my beans like a proud father, so sue me. I use a glass paint marker to write the beans that are in the can and on the other side what the grind setting is for that specific bean for my Baratza Encore for quick reference if I forget what I dialed it into.

Almost the ideal coffee canister
This product seems like a very good idea. It looks great, it's the right size, and for the first few months it seemed to seal perfectly. But now that I've had it almost a full year, the seal seems to fail. I can still pump air out of the canister, but (a) it takes more pumps and (b) by the time I go to make coffee the next day, the vacuum indicator is no longer activated and the seal appears to have failed. So I give it five stars for the concept, but only 3 stars for the execution. I will continue to use it, but wish it were still sealing firmly.

Defect after a couple days of use
I bought this container as I trust Fellow quality. Unfortunately it became useless in a few days. It didn't vacuum at all. Replacement was offered but I don't want to risk my money again.
