Wonderful!
The game came in on time like stated when I ordered! My cousin loves adventure time and I can’t wait to give this to him for his birthday!

It has glitches but it's still a good game.
I bought this game for my mom's birthday and she really likes it. Her only complaint is that the game has glitches. All Nintendo has to do is make an update for it and then it would be a 5 star game, not a 4 or 3 star game. It has really cute graphics and she said it's a fun game. She just wishes the game wouldn't freeze in the middle of a fight. 😟 It would be a better game if Nintendo would fix it with an update.

Really needs performance patches. Good for kids, not so much for people who want a super fluid game.
Alright so here's the thing, I'm 22, a tech nerd, and I absolutely love Adventure Time. I pre-ordered expecting something of a game. Here we go.. The Good: - Voice acting for basically the entire game - Storyline (so far) is plausable and is set where Finn has his prosthetic metal arm - Characters are true to themselves The not so good: - Textures are okay, nothing to write home about, but that's nothing new for the switch. - Game takes a while to load between scenes and locations, even battles. I'd rate it as sub-par. - There's no quick travel for small maps, but that's forgivable 🤷🏻♂️ The ugly: - The game isn't very fluid as far as fps, and that's coming from a guy who normally doesn't care about fps. It's about as bad as overcooked before the patch. - Game has some critical bugs still. I just finished a battle without it cutscene-ing into the end, forcing me to close the game and restart it. - Voice levels are really off at times. Quiet in some parts, too loud in others. You can fix it partially by lowering fx volumes and raising voice. Overall, if you have a kid who wants to play this game, I'd still recommend it. It's very hard to mess up and have a bad time. As for an adult who wants to live out Finn and Jake in the land of Ooo, you're going to find yourself gritting your teeth the entire way to get to the next part of the plot. It's not completely unplayable though.

Updated: Do NOT buy
Originally I rated this game three stars from day one, it was pretty fun, but the number of glitches contained in it was annoying enough that I had to put it down for a while. The radical: I still maintain this is a fun game. It has been a long time since I've played a turn-based combat RPG, but with the game's pacing, it was never too difficult. All your usual status effects and strengths/weaknesses are there, humorously named to stay true to the show. And speaking of staying true to the show, it is obvious that the writing staff are fans of Adventure Time. The main quest line and dialogue have that quirky, silly humor that feels like it was actually written by the show staff. The original English voice actors really put their heart into voicing their characters just like you would expect from the show. The bunk: Not everything is all rose petals and sunshine in this Land of Ooo. Starting with the least egregious, the side quests are really lackluster. Most of them consist of 'Sail to islands A, B, C, D and get X.' If you forget about this one while you're slogging through the main story arc, expect a lot of running back and forth if you are shooting for 100%. One of your side quests requires you to defeat 7 pirate ships while sailing. This one you had BETTER complete before encountering your second boss fight, their 'leader'. After beating their leader, no more pirates sailing the seas! In retrospect, it does kind of make sense, but there is zero warning about this beforehand. Moving on from the story, a few other things stand out as 'Bad, but not game breaking.' Lipsyncing is hilariously bad, just keep your focus on the subtitles during cutscenes. And speaking of, cutscene dialogue is far too quiet compared to gameplay volume, so expect to adjust your audio pretty regularly. Sound effects in cutscenes sometimes run late or don't play at all. The art style, while staying true to the show is good, but ground textures are very low resolution and pixelated. Areas while sailing sometimes while sailing sometimes shows a clear path big enough that you can fit your ship through and take a shortcut, but you'll just find yourself bouncing off an invisible wall trying to go through them. The bizonkers: The worst glitches of all. Loading times can take anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes. When you board or disembark your ship, there's a loading screen. Sailing to the Fire Kingdom or Evil Forest? That's a loading screen, too. Interrogation? Yep. Battle time? Oh, you bet there's a loading screen! I feel like I have spent more time reading that apologetic loading screen than actually playing the game, or at least a significant portion of my playtime consists of waiting around for the next area/fight/whatever to load. Rendering while sailing is extremely choppy, the framerate slogs along while the environment is loaded in around you, and appear quite suddenly rather than smoothly fading into your render distance. I've seen some reports of the game not progressing after boss fights as well. After killing all the enemies, your characters will just stand around doing nothing, requiring you to force close the game and redo the battle. And if that happens, any items you used during the fight are gone now, too. So be sure to stock up pretty well on items that you might need. Unfortunately, the bad significantly outweighs the good. And the very worst part of all this? The game has been like this for three months now. I feel like that is enough time to get at least some of the glaringly bad glitches worked out, but not one single patch has come through to the game. It is still just as much of a buggy mess as day one. And with no communication from the developers, I can only assume they have moved on from the game and have no intent to fix it. A real shame that this wasn't the hit it could have been, even after the release was initially delayed by a few weeks. I really wanted to like this game, as I am a huge fan of Adventure Time. But I just cannot overlook the poor optimization of this game to enjoy it. I will be hesitant to buy another game made by this developer in the future. And in the meantime, I suggest you don't touch this game. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to see how much of my money I can get back by trading in this game.
