Helped relief our dogs itchy and irritated skin. After adoption our dog was covered in red scabs, they quickly healed after using the oatmeal shampoo and skin smoother balm by Natural Dog Company. We used it daily for 2 weeks and they quickly faded. Large in size and great quality for the product. Smells nice, leaves skin smooth and healed.

We’ve been buying this brand and specifically the soothing balm and wipes for years. They’ve worked great for our Rottweiler and our Pug/Boxer mix. It smells amazing but more importantly it works amazingly well on armpit and thigh rashes. We always go with the 2oz balm (it’s like a big stick of deodorant and super easy to apply) and the 100ct container of the wipes. The size of both is perfect and lasts us several months. Overall it’s perfect for the sweat and friction rashes our dogs get and we only have to apply 1-2 times a week it’s amazing. Highly recommended. 10/10

It does help with my Callie's itchy dry skin, and it smells nice - but Callie likes it, too! She's no longer biting at herself to scratch, but she's licking to get every bit of this balm. It's also sticky and waxy, which I expected, but it's not going to work on any part of your dog that has thicker hair. It does seem to have some slight "melting" affect so it goes down to skin level, but I can't really judge that since Callie doesn't leave it alone!

My older dog had a UTI and was having trouble because of this. We put belly bands on him and he would have an accident and sometimes get urine scald. Nothing severe, just a little red and tinder. We washed him up and put this on him and it did seem to help calm it down. It has a stronger smell but it isn’t necessarily unpleasant. It is yellow though so don’t let them get on anything you don’t want maybe getting stained. It’s also greasy. It was fine we put it on him and then after a bit back in the diaper. I like that it’s safe for dogs if they try to lick it because god knows a dog would. That was the biggest reason for purchasing from this brand. My dog did not try to lick it but I didn’t want to take the risk. It’s a bit expensive but works, and like I said it’s okay if your pet licks it. It’s not deadly to them. It lasts a long time as well. I’ve purchased this multiple times now.

Our beautiful boy has severe allergies and his skin gets extremely red, itchy and then raw from the irritation and scratching, especially when allergy season is at its worse and he lays in the grass. We don’t want to keep him from doing what he loves and living his best life so I researched lotions, creams, ointments and balms for dogs and this is by far THE BEST one I found!! Most of the others either weren’t natural, or if they were, it wasn’t safe for dogs to lick the product. How frustrating would that be?! This one checked off all the boxes! All-natural ingredients, made here in America by a trusted company and it’s safe if the dog licks it (and what dog isn’t going to try licking it?) He doesn’t like to be touched or fooled with unless he’s being pet or player with, so that presented a challenge. But, we just followed the suggestion that came with the product of putting a treat in front of him to distract him. We put a bowl of peanut butter down in front of him and wow! I could have been cutting his leg off and I don’t think he would have noticed, lol! (Not that I would ever do that, of course. But these days, you sadly need to point out the obvious- and that was obviously a joke!) I was able to get a perfect amount of the balm on his lower belly, groin area and inside his legs (under all 4), and he let me even though the skin in those areas is very tender and sore. With just that ONE application, we noticed a marked difference!! He wasn’t chewing and gnawing at the area incessantly like he had been. In fact, he didn’t pay any attention to it at all, which was a clear indication that he felt a lot better! He licked the balm a bit here and there because I really went crazy slathering it on as quickly as I could everywhere, lol, and I think the greasiness felt a bit odd to him. But nothing to the point of being bothersome to him. He was much more relaxed and at ease since he wasn’t in pain or itchy anymore. He was visibly relieved! Which took a huge weight of worry off of our shoulders. He already has to deal with grand mal seizures after his recent diagnosis of canine epilepsy. This is now one less problem for him and for us to have to worry about. The vet was going to put him on some sort of steroid cream, which would have required he wear a cone of shame (which we’re extremely uncomfortable having him wear when he could possibly have a seizure at any given moment), and an antibiotic, all which would have cost a lot more, including an expensive vet visit. This saved us the trip and expense and it saved him the anxiety of going to the vet and suffering needlessly with the cone and meds he didn’t even need. His skin is healing so nicely now and he still hasn’t been bothered by it at all. The itch was so intense it would make him cry and gnaw at it for hours. What a relief for both him and for us that he’s no longer suffering! I plan to add more as needed but so far, one good coat is all that’s been necessary and it’s been a few days since I applied it. I got the 4 ounce tin so there is plenty left. It’s definitely worth the cost and saves you money in the end by not needing a vet trip or expensive meds (though be sure to consult with your vet about any new rash or skin irritations on your pet. I purchased for my French Bull dog who was having some places of dry skin as well as a post surgical scar. The smell was a bit overwhelming for me and my pooch after I applied on small areas. The next day, I also noticed hives in the area where the ointment was applied. Needless to say, I will be giving the product away.

My dog has dermatitis and very sensitive skin and this has been great in calming the flare ups and preventing future flare ups. It works quickly to soothe his skin. Usually by the next day the redness is knocked out and within a week his hair has started to grow back. This is a must during allergy season and during the blistering heat of summer! Just be sure to work the balm to an oil consistency. The stickier the consistency the more it will stain white fur.

It works. My dog has pink pads and pink skin and in winter she will get spots that she licks. But I apply this and it heals then up in a couple of days if she leaves then alone. I call it her booboo salve so unfortunately she now hates the word booboo. It has a nice earthy natural smell and is easy to apply.
