WARRIOR RACE
Product ID: 70329946
Imran Khan's family are Pathans from the fiercely independent tribal areas of the north-west frontier province of Pakistan and in this book he describes their way of life, culture and traditions. The author makes a journey through wild and hostile terrain, finding a proud and warlike people who received him with great generosity and quiet courtesy. Every Pathan male carries a gun and defends his independence and the honour of his family and his tribe, to the death. Review: Rare Inside Views from a Thankfully Partial Observer - This is an amazing book, painstakenly compiled by a passionate champion of the Pathan people. Chronicled with rare and beautiful photo's, we learn of love and heartache of being a pathan in untamed lands. Being a pathan myself, and having any glimpse into this lost world with both sensitivity and admiration is a rare treat while in the west we hear more to the contrary. For anyone who bears this ancestry, you will find many attributes of temperament explained here through the experience of a man who has lived near and outside of this place who yet still identifies with the tribal Pathan people. Read the myths, the legends and also witness the amazing lives and culture of a people who are arguable the only civilization left in the world to have established an organic democracy based on faith, values and tribal culture while retaining absolute freedom. An amazing book, perhaps collectible. Review: Great book! - Another maser piece. I re ordered it as i had lost my first copy of this book! A good pictorial history of northern pakistan now ravaged with war on terror!

Great book and fantastic insight into lives of Pathans. Though its through the eyes of Imran Khan it does relay some very important historical facts which i agree being a Pathan myself. Overall a great book!
