How long do the batteries last?

This is a hard one to answer as it would depend on how often you use the product and how long you are wearing it also it depends on the volume adjustment but on average this should last for approx. 20-30 hours.

Probably a silly question, but can this be used in either ear? Thanks

Not a silly question at all, it can be used in either ear as it twists to turn to face either direction. It also comes with different sized ear buds to fit comfortably.

Can it be used by children? Child is in a developing country and no access to help for fitting/measuring. Thanks

NO it is an amplifier not a hearING aid.
