Do you ever feel like you are constantly searching for the right way to live? Are you searching for answers to cope with grief or hardships? Maybe you are seeking a resolution to a recurring problem? The Book of Life written by—one of the greatest thinkers of our time— Jiddu Krishnamurti guides you through 365 meditations so you can use your experiences to discover truth and the reality that already exists. Krishnamurti believed that every aspect of life is interconnected. He explored nature of truth and freedom, and taught people that truth can be discovered by anyone and doesn’t require an authority figure. The daily meditations are organized by months focusing on topics such as: · Self-knowledge, listening, good and evil, and dependence · Sex, fear, feelings, and energy · Happiness, grief, perception, rebirth, and religion · God, love, and aloneness Each daily entry is brief and can be read in 5 to 10 minutes. Within entries, Krishnamurti poses questions for reflection and shares wisdom that you’ll reference later. Some of those poignant messages are: · Learning is always in the active present; it has no past. · We follow another’s authority, another’s experience and then doubt it; this search for authority and its sequel, disillusionment, it a painful process for most of us. · You discover yourself, not in isolation, not in withdrawal, but in relationship. · The transformation of the world is brought about by the transformation of oneself, because the self is the product and a part of the total process of human existence. The Book of Life is perfect for anyone interested in shifting their mindset, decreasing their stress levels, embracing a happier framework, and open to daily meditations. Review: Must buy - Very good book. Reading this book answered a lot of questions I had in my mind. Review: Truth and wisdom, if you are open, honest and ready to understand - I purchased this book in 2012, and it deeply resonated within. Sadly my English bulldog chewed it up 2 years later, but grateful to have reconnected again with Krishnamurti's wisdom and truth. Not his personally, but universal truth and wisdom that goes beyond space and time. No one quite like him in terms of clear articulation with pure humility. I wish I could give this book 10 stars.

daily wisdom
I read a lot of Krishnamurti and I definitely love his methods of analysis and his language. I even adore his rebellion, which I assume is just his own right to have a private place for earthly experience, that made him more grounded in his observations after all. While in his other works he might impose more complex units of thought, not so easy to grasp at any moment of the day (not for us, binary people), this book has an easy approach of an abstract calendar. It is written in a more simple way then his other works, but it is thoughtfully structured to work together with your reflexions. Trying to read it too fast would probably make you miss the point, as it is absolutely important here to give yourself time to reflect or try to apply the tiny tweaks in your approach to certain phenomena, as he is sometimes suggesting. I keep it at the bedside and give it ±15 minutes before sleep. Each page works like a little infusion of clarity and by doing this I got much better taste of the essence that he was trying to convey throughout his otherwise more wordily elaborations. If you happen to practice meditation, the playground for application becomes even bigger and far more interesting. Once you read it, you'd probably want to do it again. Recommended.

I was looking for a daily book of thoughts worth ...
I was looking for a daily book of thoughts worth pondering, and this one fills my need. It is slanted toward insight-medication in the zen tradition. Not Christian in style. Some days' thoughts continue on to the next day or two as well, so the reader can continue a line of questioning. As for uplifting, I'd say it helps instill calmness and peace of mind more than a sugary message of unsubstantiated optimism. The daily meditations do more to help the reader ponder his/her own thoughts and feelings than to give advice about what one should think or feel. Personally, that is my preference, and I lilke this book for that reason.

I love all of Krishnamurti's stuff
He adds no fluff to his words. He gets right to the point. It's easy to see that he has put a lot of thought into understanding the things a person goes through. I've read a lot of books from different spiritual masters, and enjoyed learning good things from them. But if I had to choose just one teacher, it would be Krishnamurti. He's not some cool celebrity type who charges big bucks to get you all excited for a night. He is serious about understanding what the real truth is. Not your truth or my truth that we can agree with, but the honest to goodness bottom line truth that never changes. And that's all I want, the actual truth, even if it hurts. So if you're serious about knowing who you really are, and ready to go through whatever it takes to get there, I highly recommend all of Krishnamurti's works. Read them, let it sink in, read some more and examine yourself. If you really want the truth you will find his words help peel away layers of what is not true. But be forewarned. Almost everything he says is basically the opposite of everything the rest of the world has forever been telling us we want.

change does not come gradually it comes immediately-
In the beginning it appears to be difficult to understand but it is important to realize that it is the mind that is complex, not K. K is extraordinarily simple so if our minds are unable to grasp these writings it is because of the deep conditioning that we are exposed to constantly throughout our lives. This is NOT about positive thinking or self improvement. If you are trying to be a better person, don't bother buying this book. This is a very good first book to buy. Just keep it by your bed and read 1 page per day. Some days you will find something that is extraordinary mostly not because of the actual content but what is written is so simple you are amazed that you were unable to see it. The best way to read K though is http://www.jkrishnamurti.org/rss/ You get a daily quote emailed to you. Keep this in mind..... the moment you accept time as a means of change, you do not see the falseness in that fact and therefore the truth of that - that is the greatest sorrow.

The Book of Life - for those who want to live and love
Once I read Krishnamurti’s Freedom From the Known, my life was never the same. The truth that is in the dialogues in that book are truths that, once seen, are hard to unsee. Even so, I found myself wanting to read a little each day. Then I discovered The Book of Life with its daily meditations and I knew that I wanted this book. I have read each daily meditation since purchasing the book. I recommend Krishnamurti to anyone who knows that there is a light in this universe that is sacred but for whom the sacred texts leave much to be desired. Krishnamurti’s dialogues as preserved in text teach us that we are that light, and there is no path to the sacred truth and light, we are in it and we are that light, and only our conditioning stands in the way.

Psychologically life changing
K embodies and expands upon the advaita philosophy of the Hsin Hsin Ming. A clear concise guide to rational thought. Demonstrating dualism is the disease of the mind and society. A fresh mind alive with passion and creativity is the goal.

A book for all...
Enlightened is an overused word but that is how I find this book to be. It simply resonates with profundity of wisdom and truth that transcends all faiths or creeds but without threatening or compromising; put-downs or self-seeking claims about its own righteousness; or telling one how to live one's life. One can figure that out for oneself albeit this book helps one to do that. I always find something in each daily reading to ground me: no mean feat (or pun intended). I practice Yoga and hope to qualify as a teacher. These texts are complementary to meditation and good to read during difficult times. Strongly recommended: whoever or wherever you are in life. Om shanti.
