8900W Light-Duty Commercial JACKSHAFT Operator W/Built-in WI-FI for SECTIONAL Doors LJ8900W

I bought this to match the same product that we already have on another door. This opener works great on our 14-ft door on our shop/barn. It is hard-wired to a switch on the wall. It does not come with a remote opener, but with the app, your smart phone takes the place of a remote, which is very convenient. My husband was able to install this himself, but I’d still recommend hiring a professional to install if you’re not absolutely sure you have the equipment and know-how to do it yourself. It scared me seeing him standing on the top rung of that ladder, but I am ecstatic now over the ability to open the large door at the push of a button!

The LiftMaster 8900W automatice garage door opener is fantastc! Easy to install & operator. It's a great value & quiet. We've been using it for a while & are extremely happy with it.

This garage door is quiet, smooth, sturdy, and very easy to install. I cannot give it 5 stars because the opener is not warrantied unless installed by an authorized source. This door opener is easier to install than all other door openers I have installed in the past. I do not see the reasoning for this policy. I am confident that this is a quality product and should last for many years.

Quiet, easy to install, had some issues with the tension monitor locking the system. Manual a bit short on info. Having problems syncing with MyQ app. You have to select the model but honestly cannot find the model number showing in the app anywhere in the manual or on the device.Bottom line, love it, wanted to add a ceiling fan into my shop/garage, this allowed me to do that removing the center chain drive opener. Super quiet.

In short, the opener works well and seems good. Customer service is not that great. I was having trouble getting it to learn the up and down travel. So I called tech service for help. The rep was pretty much useless. Whatever diagnostic sheet they have to access must be pretty sad. I was told my warranty was voided because I self installed the unit, why even sell a unit to the general public if they can't self install and still have a warranty? The reason I could not get it to do the learn procedure, was because I didn't disengage the the emergency release fully. I did not double pull it so it would reengage. Completely my fault, but the manual didn't say how to disengage it.

My last 2 openers had problems with the chain and worm drives. This bypasses those parts so I am hoping this will last a long time. It's been a month - no issue so far. Install was easier than traditional openers. I was able to install this despite the ceiling coming down right near the corner of the door - had to cut the drywall. Most people won't have this issue. One thing I wish this had is an overhead light. So I am looking for a motion sensor light to put in the ceiling.
