Quilted Stretch-to-Fit Mattress Pad by Hanna Kay, Clyne Collection (Queen)

For over 10 years now I have owned and managed an oceanfront vacation rental which is booked solid from May 1 to Oct 1 with a 3 night minimum. Mattress pads are laundered between all guests - every 3 to 7 days - with bleach! Sand is as prevalent as air; it's ALWAYS present even in the mattress pads which tends to cut fabric fibers over time. Over the years I have spent a small fortune on mattress pads (up to $95-$100 each) every year and sometimes twice within a year. Even the most expensive ones literally fall apart, fray, tear, etc especially on the sides because most of them use cheap materials such as recycled plastic (think of the first reusable recycled 99¢ grocery store bags - yeah THAT) everywhere but the top and all of them were just plain ill-fitting. In June 2016 I ordered several of these mattress pads after the 2 month old ones (2 @ $89 each) were literally disintegrating. After buying every brand and style of mattress pad known to man, nothing compares to this one and I will never buy any other mattress pad but this one as long as I live!!! They are so well made out of soft but durable materials and they are a perfect snug fit. They have laundered beautifully about 70 times now and to my amazement they show no signs of wear and tear even with the constant inevitable sand. The elastic isn't even stretched out - still fit snug. Best of all, this mattress pad put an end to a constant cycle of searching for and buying yet another mattress pad and feeling ripped-off every time for years and years!

I needed a lightweight mattress pad for the summer - the one we usually use was sleeping way too hot, not to mention that it would not fit in my compact size front loader and having to take it to the laundromat was a pain. I was choosing between this one and Fitted - Luxurious Down Alternative Mattress Pad - 100% Cotton , 300 Thread Count - Queen Size (60x80") , but ultimately decided to go for the Hanna Kay pad because the other one had a number of reviews mentioning off-gassing and an unpleasant smell even after washing while this pad did not. I have to say, in spite of the price, this is a great product! Yes, it's not going to affect the way your mattress feels, but it will add a layer of protection and, most importantly, it does not sleep hot. We have a natural latex mattress, and with our other mattress pad I kept thinking it was the latex foam that sleeps hot. But when we switched to this much less expensive pad I no longer have any issues with waking up sweaty and miserable in the middle of the night, and that alone is well worth the price. In terms of the way it's made - the pad is quite thin, but nicely made (no loose stitches, once again unlike our old pad where the quilting started unraveling from day one). As everyone has mentioned, the sides are fabric, which looks much sturdier than other options with elastic "netting". It's very compact and easily fits even in my tiny 2 cu.ft. Miele washer and corresponding dryer. I've washed it 3 times so far on hot with no shrinking, pilling or other adverse effects. Overall, if you are looking for a non-waterproof breathable protective cover for your mattress, I highly recommend this. As somebody who sleeps hot I've been very happy with this pad, as it does not affect my body temperature, and I've been testing it out through the hot summer months. In all honesty I'm not sure I will be putting the old mattress pad back on the bed, the Hanna Kay has been much more comfortable at 1/5 of the price.

After unwraping it, I checked this cover for any defects, and then tried it on my mattress for fit. It is good quality with a fairly strong elastic. I then washed the cover in warm water on gentle, and then dried the cover in a medium heated dryer. After washing I checked it for any damage, and there was none. The only change I noticed is that the woven material which holds the cover on the mattress was a bit less deep, and did not extend under the mattress as much. It lost some depth under the mattress, but it still has 4 inches underneath, and the elastic holds it in place firmly. I've been sleeping on my bed with this cover for more then a week, and it has held tightly on my mattress. Even my fitted bottom sheet has held firmly at all the corners with this cover beneath it. The bottom sheet was usually pulling off the mattress with my old cover, but this no longer has happened with this cover. It's not as filled with padding as I expected, but it's very comfortable and doesn't bunch up under the sheet. Because there was slight shrinkage. Around the woven skirt only, you need to pull the last corner in place by holding the cotton top, and avoid pulling on the elastic or the skirt, or it may damage it. Just pull the cotton top corner tightly with one hand, and then slip the elastic under the mattress with the other hand I paid 2x more for my old cover on discount, and this item is a much better quality. I'm glad I bought this cover for it's higher quality and value.

Good fit

Exactly as per the description. Not overly thick but sufficient and as pictured. Well made, soft, and roomy when putting it on our 13" mattress. Easy installation. Will update after using it for a while and washing it a few times.

Bought it about 6 months ago, already pilling, thin, and the stuffing is breaking down, would not recommend this product.
