MATINGMARK Deluxe Ram Marking Harness for Monitoring Breeding of Sheep & Goats, Made by Rurtec in New Zealand (Extra Small)

I have used two other styles of marking harnesses for our bucks. They were always too big, even when adjusted. They needed a lot of zip ties to keep them in place and still needed adjusting (not easy to do on a buck in rut). Ordered the Rurec MatingMark to try to make life easier for us during the upcoming breeding season. I ordered both XL and Standard for two Boer goat bucks because there was no information about sizing, either on Amazon or Rurtec. To date, we have used the XL on the 200+ lb. two year old Boer. This size would work for a 300+ lb. buck as well. I wonder if the Standard size would have worked. Anyway, after figuring out the buckles and adjusting them, the fit was great, and because of the adjustments and buckles, there are no extra pieces dangling, so that's a plus. It's now been on him 2+ weeks, and has only needed minor adjustments once. It does not roll, chafe, or loosen. The crayon changing was wonderful. Instead of having to either remove the entire harness and fit the crayon before putting it back on the buck OR trying to do it on him, just a simple click and the old one is off and the new one is on. We are extremely satisfied with this purchase. I'll update this when I use the Standard size on the yearling buck in a few weeks.

Great product! This is the second harness we’ve purchased for our rams. Works perfectly with no issues so far! Our rams allow us to change out the color easily every 21 days. We remove the harness, check for rubs, and replace the marker. So far no issues do note. Have used one harness for two breeding season and just got this new one for our new ram! He looks pretty snazzy in it too!

I ordered the small and we can’t seem to keep it on him even tightened as tight as it will go. Seems like it would work good for others. Definitely not for small breed goats

I like the harness and it seemed to be popular online. Crayons snapped in and were securely held. It was somewhat difficult to get a good fit on my Katahdin hair ram (about 250lbs). The straps that go behind the front shoulders started to wear sensitive spots in his “armpit” area after he had it on for a month or so, so I took it off to avoid a potential open wound.

The harness was way too large for my Katahdin Ram and we had to tie it in knots To make it work! Granted he is only a year old but take a look at the photo

Easy transaction great communication and a awesome price would def buy again Thanks The rams harness is the best ive owned We have used for a few seasons on different rams with no problems the other brands ive had have broken at the clips but the Rurtec Harness has stayed in great condition Easily adjustable to fit our small Babydoll rams and locks the crayon in place with out the pesky use of other brand Harnesses that use a coddle pin This harness uses a lock in crayon which is easy to replace and the crayons come in a range of colours

This harness is working great and does not seem to rub the skin on my ram. It’s holding up well during breeding season and the crayons are easy to attach and remove. I highly recommend this product.
