You can put it next to the pan however if you put your nose up to it to smell it it’s really strong so I would keep that in mind. My cat is really curious so mine is above the litter pan and it works well.

Why would you use Lavender as a scent its toxic to animals????

Amazing! I love my frenchies , but they smell after a while. I placed this odor killer in their sleeping area and the room smelled lot better. The smell is not over whelming, just enough to do it's job.
