I do not know, but it did not work on silver plated jewelry. It still turned copper.

How can I remove the white film that is left through the chain of a necklace?

Hi! To coat a chain it’s best to dab coating onto the microfiber, pinch the chain with the area and gently run in down the chain. You’ll also want to move the chain around while coating it so all the surface is hit. Then, after waiting 5 to 30 minutes, repeat the same process with a clean and dry section of microfiber to polish and remove the remaining coating. If you have Coating that wasn’t removed somehow and has dried, first try to remove it with the microfiber in the same fashion. If the coating won’t come off you’ll need to use nail polish remover dabbed on the microfiber and then recoat the chain as described above. Please let us know if you need anything else! Thank you!

Can it be used on a black painted tungsten ring?

Yes. But it would serve no purpose

Can you coat over rhinestones?

I would not coat over anything but metal but you may want to go directly to the seller on that one.
