48" X 100' White Double Bubble Reflective Foil Insulation

I live in Texas now, but used to live in Canada. I remember seeing a product similar to this when I was in Canada a few years ago, but none of my local hardware stores knew what I meant when I described this. They all have the silver on both sides, foil over bubble wrap, but I wanted the white surface. This has foil on one side, and white on the other. Maybe a little back story... The reason I'm using this, is for a sci fi set I'm building, for a show you may never get to see... anyway, when I was designing the set, I was thinking of what it looks like on the ISS Space Station, there are areas that are covered in a white insulation. Its NOT this material, but I thought it looked kind of like it. This insulation is fairly inexpensive, for a 100' roll, so I thought why not. Plus, in my apartment, the old glass sliding doors are very poor at keeping the cold air out in our not very cold Texas winter (remember, I'm from Canada, haha) but still... so I decided to cover the glass door in my bedroom with a layer of this. It makes a HUGE difference! Unfortunately it does block out most of the light, its not quite completely opaque, so some light comes through, but very little. So in my living room, I left the glass open. I can see out, but I'm losing heat. Anyway, this is really easy to work with. I can cut it with regular scissors, or an utility knife. Tape it up with duct tape, and you're done. My local home improvement store even has white duct tape, which matches nicely. So, for spaceships, or cold windows, this is a great solution! This is ok and delivered on time.

this is a very fast way to insulate plus have nice clean walls in our basement. we had to gut our basement including the old fiberglass insulation. The white double bubble is very clean looking easy to install in the ceiling and our basement stays cool and dry.

This is not double bubble stuff. Contacted the company and they still insist it is. I will keep because of the hassle of returning them. Will have to double up when I install.

It's thinner than I expected

I purchased a high-end geodesic dome 10 years ago that's been used as a 'detached bedroom' year-round here in chilly/damp Northern California. I insulated the dome with what was back then high-end brand-name 'Reflectix' insulation. It's worked great, but after a decade they've worn out from exposure and being taken in and out (seasonally). Back then it was hard to get this type of insulation with white on one side, and the white is way more pleasant for a living space wall than the silver (makes you feel like you're living in a tinfoil home...). I was pleased to find this product as I searched for replacements, happy to find something with white on one side and a price that is about 25% of what I paid ten years ago, and less expensive than other options I saw available today. I've installed this new insulation into our dome and it's great, first rate. Highly recommended.
