If you are not a complete beginner, it fits the bill. I just need some inspiration, and can easily figure out the details as to how to make certain joints, what dimensions to make things, etc. A good hard book still beats the internet! Review: Helpful book - The book is very helpful in understanding style and background. The plans are good except I assumed that the chair featured on the cover was also featured in the book with plan. It has a place in the book, no plan. I kept the book and ordered the plan separately.

stuck in between
This Is two books in one, a catalog of ideas for Craftsmanlike furniture and a project book. It would have been better, perhaps, if it had been a bit longer to do justice to both

More Woodworking Plans Than You Can Shaker a Stick at.
This is mostly a collection of plans and articles for fine furniture from the pages of two American woodworking magazines "Home Furniture" and "Fine Woodworking". The short introduction on the Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris and the craftsman such as Edward Barnsley, highlights that the 25 or so plans are more "suggested by" rather than direct copies. The range of American craft influences are probably more influential. Aesthetically, the furniture is a bit of a mixed bunch, but there are some outstanding pieces for the expert cabinet maker, and ironically some of the simpler pieces (a bookcase using pegged joints for e.g.) capture the A&C spirit perfectly.Excellent book.
