why use substances like maltodextrin... you're losing people.

Our products are formulated for efficacy and as such we choose our raw ingredients carefully, with a focus on factors such as form and bioavailability.  In addition to the active ingredients, we are also very careful when it comes to choosing our excipients.  These non-active but essential additions to our products fill essential roles within the manufacturing process.   For example, it is simply not possible to produce a finished tablet containing micro amounts of a micronutrient without the use of a bulking agent.  We use non-GMO maltodextrin, a type of starch sourced carbohydrate.  Our maltodextrin is therefore derived from a natural source (and refined using good manufacturing process protocols to make it suitable for supplemental use) and has been awarded GRAS status (Substances Generally Recognised as Safe) by both the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Food Standards Agency (EFSA).  To give an example of the established safety of maltodextrin, because it has a high glycaemic index (which means it releases energy quickly) it is an ingredient found commonly in isotonic sports-drinks which are used routinely by athletes to ensure sustained energy during endurance training.  The average maltodextrin content of isotonic sports-drinks is anywhere between 10 and 30g.  However, at less than 50milligrams per tablet, the maltodextrin in our vegan D3 is simply too low to have any blood sugar raising effects.

It's a plant based lichen, derived from a fungi that provides cholecalcoferol. 
To answer your question, yes. 
But it is a vegan lichen.
