I have 3 that keep going off at night when no fire. Anyone know why?

It’s the battery warning. Makes a dreadful noise when they need replacing. We found we had to buy a whole new unit, which we did on Amazon.

How can I unlock the plate from alarm? Iy locked before puting it on the ceiling ??

The detector head can be separated from the baseplate by depressing the security tag on the side of the alarm and twisting the alarm anticlockwise.

I’d like one of these for my kitchen but i’m worried it will keep going off if i burn the toast ! can i switch off a false alarm easily?

Hi I have one in the utility room and one in the hallway. This avoids alarm going off if toast or similar burns. I did thus to avoid the scenario you mention.

Look at the underside of the fixing plate. You will see a gap in the edge. At this gap there is a release pin on the side of the alarm. Push the pin in and turn the head off the plate.

Great replacement

Bought this as a replacement for an alarm which the fire brigade installed but the battery had died. Was glad I was able to get this replacement as it just clips in to the existing fitment. Worth the cost for peace of mind. Very happy.

Good but battery life ?

Just replaced the same one after 5 years. Like other reviewers, the battery only lasted 5 years. Otherwise an excellent alarm and simple to fit. New one fitted into existing base plate, taking seconds to install.

Good alarm as recommended by UK fire brigade

Required as an exact replacement for the one that has just expired. Good instructions provided. Easy to install. Nice and white compared to the old one that has turned cream. It's a nice small alarm that isn't too obvious. Battery life is good and the mounting plate is supplied, although I used the old one.
