The person who reviewed this duvet on 1/16/21, saying the company is doing a bait-and-switch, much more likely just received the wrong item due to a shipping error; not sure why they've leaped to accusing the company of fraud. This is my first silk-filled duvet. I've been having trouble with overheating at night and waking up sweaty for a long time, and it's kept me from getting enough rest. A memory foam mattress and pillows don't help, either! Well, I recently discovered Hotel Sheets Direct's bamboo viscose sheets and pillowcases, and they are near miraculous. They are cooling/temperature-regulating, they wick moisture, and they feel soft and silky. Those helped a lot, and I now own six sets plus extra pillowcases, and have gifted sets to three friends! But I still had a polyester comforter making me too warm, and when I tried my summer-weight down duvet, it wasn't any better. I saw that the same company makes a duvet cover set, and asked on the product page what would be the best kind of duvet insert to maintain the beneficial properties of the bamboo duvet cover. Everyone, including the seller, recommended a silk-filled duvet. I searched Amazon trying to find one with either a silk shell or a bamboo shell, but the only one I found with a silk shell was about $500, and I wasn't ready to pay that much. So I went with this Mommesilk cotton-shell duvet, as it had good reviews and was one of the most affordable. I've been using it for several weeks now in this hot northern California summer, and it's fantastic. It looks thin, but it has some weight to it, especially with the bamboo duvet cover on it, which feels really nice for relaxing and falling asleep. Most nights I use it on its own (inside the duvet cover of course) just over the top sheet, and I stay warm and cozy without overheating. Some nights I actually need to put a throw blanket on top to warm up for a little bit right after getting in bed, or I add my thin bamboo blanket if it's cold in the house. And some nights I use my bamboo-covered weighted blanket on top, and usually I still stay cool enough, even with that on me!! I'm so happy to have finally solved my hot sleeping issues, and I would definitely recommend this duvet.

Nice quality comforter, but very thin. For winter you'd have to layer at least 2 of these.

This comforter surprised me—not with flash, but with how quietly perfect it is night after night. I’ve tried everything from down to synthetic fills, but none managed to walk the line between breathable and warm quite like this. The silk filling is light and evenly distributed, and the cotton shell feels smooth without being slippery. I’ve been using it for several weeks through erratic New York weather—chilly at night, humid by morning—and I’ve stayed comfortable without once waking up damp or cold. There’s a zippered flap on the side so you can inspect the silk inside, which is a nice touch. You can also tell by the eight corner loops and the solid stitching that it’s made to last. It’s thin, yes, but that’s kind of the point—this isn’t about fluff, it’s about consistent comfort. The whole thing feels quietly luxurious. It doesn’t try to impress out of the box, but over time you realize: your sleep is better, you’re not tossing the comforter off in the middle of the night, and you wake up just the right temperature.

I bought this as a replacement for one that I had bought at the factory in China. A dry cleaner ruined my first one! Was worried about the quality as I liked my first one so very much. To my eye, the mulberry silk filling threads are just as high quality as my old one. Excellent! A differences. There is indeed a zipper at one end but the silk inner part is sewn through on the outside cotton with seams as you might expect a quilt to be. You cannot remove the inside silk thread part. It comes with an excellent Hugh quality cotton bag with a draw string for storage. My old one has come in a kind of fancy zipper plastic/cloth thing. I confess that so had not done a great deal of price shopping comparison as I was in a fairly grumpy mood after the dry cleaner had wrecked my first one. However, the $157.99 plus tax ($170.23 total) was indeed more than what I had paid for the one in China but not excessively so I thought. I crossed my fingers and ordered. I purchased the Queen size to replace my ruined Queen sized one. The item is true to dimensions and actually a bit larger than my old one as in a few inches wider and a few inches longer. Those familiar with silk-filled duvets indeed know the comfort of their lightweight quality and the almost magical properties of sleeping with it for all seasons—cool and comfy in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter. The cotton shell is of good quality. However, you should indeed use a duvet cover. I had previously had a 100% silk duvet cover that indeed enhances these nice qualities. I am so happy that this is a reputable company that delivers exactly the high quality it promises in such an outstanding product. Have been previously disappointed with some Amazon purchases where the product was not accurately described and/or of such poor quality that was immediately apparent upon opening the item. No worries here for either of those! In fact, it is quite the opposite. A happy, good thing indeed!

I was excited to see such a cheap price for silk-filled duvet with reading all the details. But I’m very disappointed after receiving it. The package was damaged (probably never properly worked.) Most importantly, the product itself is so disappointing: the cotton shell is smelling bad (not as the same as what a real mulberry silk duvet should smell). The inner silk filling is not high quality long-strand 6A mulberry silk. It’s not as soft as the one I use. It is more like wild silk or short-strand one.

I did a bit of research before purchasing the twin size all season comforter. I used Rufus to finalize my decision to buy the highest quality, 100% mulberry silk-filled duvet, with the best customer ratings. Rufus recommended Mommesilk and Lilysilk. For reference, I had recently bought a queen all-season duvet from Lilysilk on their website, not realizing it was cheaper on Amazon. Lilysilk had the highest silk fill and was fairly reasonable. But, it’s just a tiny bit too warm for me for summer where I live. I bought this twin size, hoping to bring it with me when I travel. So far, I’m pleased with the quality and condition of the comforter. It seems just as nice as the Lilysilk, although it’s thinner. For my tastes, fairly heavy for a twin, which was a pleasant surprise. It’s too much (weight/size) for me to pack in a small suitcase but I am still keeping it to use around the house. Or maybe I need a bigger suitcase! I am thinking of buying their all season queen to use this summer, since its silk fill is slightly lighter than my Lilysilk. Over all, I am pleased.

Only just received it but so far it's exactly as described. The cover is wonderfully soft cotton, very tightly woven and should stand up well to wear. Quilt is thin (about 3/4"-1") and has a nice weight to it -- light but definitely a cover vs a sheet. Very nice alternative to my usual down and down/feather duvets I've used and way way better than the "alternative" artificial filled ones (which are just too heavy and bulky for me). The bonus is that the quilt comes in it's own draw-string bag for storage however I see myself using this all year round. 8/1/18. Update to say the quilt has been performing beautifully. It tends to stay in place during normal sleep (single person, queen sized bed). It is running warm during hot weather but is easy to throw aside and pull back as needed.
