Dead on arrival
As others stated, battery is dead on arrival. Unable to hold charge. I followed instructions to plug into laptop - waited until solid green bar for battery showed on the device over multiple seconds. I unplugged the mp3 player, and it immediately said "low battery" and shut off. Pressing the power button did not turn it on. Only plugging it into the laptop brings it to life. The product paperwork says the year 2012.. so, the battery likely lost its ability to hold charge somewhere between 0 and 13 years ago.

Nice little item.
A gift for a young grandson. He liked it and tells me it works well. It is an attractive unit and a good starter piece.

Dead on Arrival
just like almost everyone else, the battery is old and degraded, will not hold a charge. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE. Coby usually gets affordable tech okay, but this product has not aged well.

It wouldn't even charge up
I wasn't able to use the item for anything. It wouldn't even charge all the way (it kept cutting off) and when I tried to turn the item on it wouldn't stay on. It kept turning off by itself. I would have returned it but I had to destroy the packaging just to open it, and I wanted to use an amazon go location, but I don't have the internet on my phone so whatever code is needed to open the door to the place, I couldn't get it because I don't have the amazon app on my phone. The other way to return ups would end up costing almost as much as I paid for the item so heed my words and do not buy this item!!!!!!!!!!

The battery was the problem, not the player. Would have liked for it to have worked, as It seemed like a fun product.

Dead batteries from long storage.
I ordered one AND a replacement and both MP3 players would NOT take a charge. I left them plugged in overnight and when I disconnected them from my PC, they both went dead and would not turn on after. I think they've been sitting on the inventory shelf so long, that the batteries have expired from not being recharged. I would NOT buy these a THIRD time, nor should you buy them once.

Good for my kid.
Just as explained simple MP3 Player. I found it a bit unresponsive unless you pushed on icons a little harder.
