Wells and Septic Systems [Alth, Max, Alth, Charlotte, Duncan, S. Blackwell] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Wells and Septic Systems Review: Excellent book - I got the edition revised by some guy named Blackwell. I bought this book after reading it at the library. It arrived, but did not stay [due to my use and abuse], in excellent condition. The information is excellent and detailed. But I wish there was more. For example there is a comment about what I think is cisterns, but no detailed instructions on how to build one. A value tool to anyone who needs or wants DIY water and septic, could literally save you thousands of dollars, even if you don't Do it yourself. Review: Overall Systems Knowledge not so much a how to guide. - I learned a lot about various systems and their function from this book. Not exactly a how to build guide, lacks that much detail. Good insight on the basics of a reliable system, concerns, enough to give insight into planning. I was hoping to get a better feel for different construction costs along with plusses and minuses between systems. It did give enough operation info to better understand but not a shopping list or parts to tally up as costs.

Worth every penny
Very detailed. Gives numerous examples, especially about codes and necessity to do it right. I feel confident in my own abilities having read this.

If you want to dig your own well this book ...
If you want to dig your own well this book covers it. I'm not sure most people would need to know that.

Good Book
Good book in regards to the basics of wells & septic systems so far with what I have read. Definitely want to delve a little deeper to see how much design info there is in it

A good guide, if a bit dated.
A solid guide to the basics of how septic systems work and how to build them. Some of the information is dated, which is the major flaw that I found with the book as a guide for the modern DIYer. The author discusses many alternative types of systems, several of which would not pass muster with modern codes. Despite the dated information, the descriptions of how things work are easy to understand. That basic knowledge is well worth the modest price of the book.

Five Stars
Very well written, perhaps a tad more technical than I can handle, but still useful
