I have really thick dark hair that likes to go from wavy to curly depending on the weather. But I also suffer from severe depression and it leads to not taking care of my basics needs from not eating to not even brushing my hair for weeks. I usually put it up in a bun to hide how bad it is, even though I know I'm just avoiding the inevitable. I would just get so scared to even try brushing it out because I know it'll be painful and I've had a sensitive scalp since I was young. I barely get my haircut or let the hairstylist brush my hair, i do it myself because of how painful it can be for me. I had my doubts about this product because I thought it was just all hype. But I had an event coming up that I couldn't miss and I was desperate to brush out my matted hair. I lost my old trusty hairbrush when I traveled during the holidays and went ahead to buy three different detangler brushes to try, but this one was the best! The other two were the BESTOOL Detangling Brush & the Ninabella Organic Detangling Hair Brush. The Bestool worked well, but not as much as this brush. And I'm not satisfied with how unsturdy the Ninabella was Its lightweight and on the smaller than i expected since i had the size of a paddle brush in mind; it made me more doubtful of its usefulness more because I have too much hair. But it caused me very little pain (mats will always cause some pain) and made what is usually a multiday process to less than 10 minutes. I was brought to tears of how well it worked. It didn't snag, the bristles were still in place, and it was really easy to remove loose hairs. I also liked that the bristles were long enough to stimulate the scalp when brushing, I could barely feel the bristles of the Bestool, which maybe some other people prefer that. Its also really sturdy unlike the Ninabella which would just couldnt make it through the big knots. This brush can be used in the shower too without worry of water getting stuck inside like my old brushes with the cushions uner the bristles. Ive been using this brush in the shower, when its only semi dry, and whenever i just need to touch uo my hair when its dry. I'm not sure how it works. It doesn't look like anything special either, but works so well everytime! I'm grateful that it's brought me some relief in regards to no longer fearing to brush my hair when I just can't find the will to fight my mental illness and get out of the deep pit. There's no more crying, no sore arms, no throbbing scalp, and no self-hating. If you had the same struggle with your hair, you should give this a try!

I’ve tried many brushes over the years and this might be one of the best I’ve used. I was skeptical at first, but it has become a staple for mem my toddler and my niece’s hair. What drew me in was its promise to be gentle yet effective on wet or dry hair. From day one, I noticed how soft the bristles feel on the scalp. There was no harsh snagging or pulling. I use it on my thin hair and it glides through easily even on tighter curls. I’ve also used it on my niece's thicker hair and it still detangled without too much fuss (just a few extra passes at times) One of my favorite things is that I can brush in large sections instead of dividing into tiny chunks like with other brushes. Whether hair is wet, damp, or dry, it doesn’t tug or pull, which means minimal shedding and breakage during brushing. For someone like me, with a tender scalp, it’s a big bonus that it doesn’t hurt. It does tend to feel lightweight or slightly flimsy at times, and I do worry about the bristles losing their form but so far that hasn’t happened. Seriously love this brush. It gets through tangles so easily without feeling like it’s ripping your hair out, and it works so much better than every other brush I’ve tried. My daughter refuses to let me use any other brush on her hair now because this one is so much gentler. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and somehow still feels sturdy at the same time. At this point I automatically reach for this one every day and barely touch our old brushes anymore. Honestly one of those products that completely lived up to the hype for me. Definitely worth buying!!

I was very skeptical about this brush; I have 4b hair and have been using a Goody pick since 2002 and it's worked well. I used this brush to detangle my hair before washing it, and I was surprised at how easily it slipped through my ends. I sectioned my hair in twists and made sure it was wet beforehand, as some reviews mentioned it is not good on dry hair. The brush struggled to get through my roots, but I found using my fingers helped a bit. It snagged if I tried to detangle larger sections; it also snagged in the shower. Since one review mentioned they used the brush when shampooing, I thought I would try it - bad idea. I don't know why, but every time it went through my hair in the shower, it would snag and I'd hear snapping sounds, which was annoying considering I just trimmed my split ends. I guess for my hair, it does not work when it is completely drenched. Oh well. I will say that every time I have detangled my hair in the past, the sink always looked like a giant bird's nest afterwards. With this brush, I only got a handful of shedding. I did not believe the reviews that said they got much less shedding with this brush, but I am glad I was proven wrong. Overall, I would say this is a decent brush for the price. It does what I need it to do without losing a bunch of hair. I think it is over-hyped, but that is just my opinion. If you need a brush that will detangle type 4 hair without snagging (when wet), I'd say get this brush.

I'll start off with saying I am a regular customer, with no following or clout to chase for this review, but I was flooded with countless videos about this brush on TikTok. I didn't want to believe any of them. The reviews were too positive and everyone was getting a commission so I didn't know what was true and what wasn't. But I couldn't deny that some of the videos were convincing as I watched the tangles get removed. So I found it on my own on Amazon...all I can say is wow!! I have very long, dense 4b hair, but my hair gets dry easily and I am learning how to care for my natural textures since I grew up religiously getting silk presses. The hardest part of caring for my natural texture is detangling this jungle on the back of my head. My hair reaches my lower back and it's such a pain to brush through it all. I often have to take breaks because I would be actively brushing my hair for an hour and my arms would be on fire. This brush has changed everything for me!!! I went to brush through my hair yesterday and this brush glided through with almost no effort. It didn't slide on top of my hair either, it went all the way through to my ends and I started about halfway up as a test to see what would happen. I was in shock! I just stared at myself in the mirror in disbelief. A couple more passes and the difference was undeniable compared to my normal paddle brush. It only took me 30 minutes to detangle my head all the way from the roots to the ends (which is incredible considering I would normally take an hour of active brushing). I didn't even need to change brushes. Normally I use my wide tooth comb, back it up with a paddle brush and then a smaller brush to get everything detangled. I did my entire head with this brush and followed it up with a normal tooth comb...No kinks left in sight! And the brush is lightweight so my arms felt great still when I was done. Best of all? It didn't hurt at all! I am very tender headed in the back and normally have to work my way from the ends to the roots in tiny chunks to prevent pulling my hair because it would hurt. I felt no pain as this brush separated the strands for me. I didn't even have a crazy amount of hair pulled out like I do with my normal brush. The backing is plastic and has holes so it is insanely easy to clean and you don't have to worry about mildew or germ buildup as long as you wipe it down periodically. I've been calling everyone I know to let them know that the tik tok reviews were not joking! I don't recommend ordering through TikTok since some of those brushes are dupes/knockoffs, but this one right here is the real deal and everybody deserves one!

I have curly hair and this brush works amazingly on my hair! I can brush it out dry or wet and it will not hardly pull my hair at all!! It is the easiest brush I tried to clean and it is great quality! Have had the same brush for years!

I thought this was just a Tik Tok gimmick but I LOVE this brush - It gets right to the root on your scalp. You'll get it and feel like it's a weird cheap brush but then you use it and it's magic. I swear!

This was recommended to me by a friend as I told her I was not looking forward to take out my cornrows as I hair (4c) was guaranteed to be tangled. I got the brush and it worked so well I have recommended it to others already. I also will be buying and hoarding some so i always have one! No need to change the design it works on wet, damp or dry hair. Perfect for me.

J'ai les cheveux type 4a et c'est la brosse la plus efficace que j'ai pu utiliser. Elle démêle mes cheveux rapidement et il y a moins de cheveux sur la brosse qu'avec les autres brosses ou peignes.
