Solid lock. Very sturdy and does its job well. Have purchased multiple of these for our homes. Easy to install but will need some muscle. Fits super snug, will need to adjust the door or cut into doorframe to fit properly.

I had similar locks like these in a house we were renting a while back. I decided to get these because I do a lot of woodworking projects in our garage, and I feared the kids getting into the garage and figuring out how to plug in and turn on one of the saws. I went ahead and got three, one for the garage, one for the front door, and one for the back door. Installation was very easy. First, check the correct placement by holding it up in place where you plan to install to see more or less where the screws should go. I didn't have to measure anything. Just wanted to have an idea. Then, drill pilot holes, and install the screws. Done. A couple of things to note. The lock ended up rubbing a little on the garage door. Not a big deal and does not prevent the door from closing, but something to be aware of. Also, based on reviews I did not use the provided cheap screws. I have star type construction screws that are much better screws so I used those. Size of screw will depend on your door jam. I used 2 1/2". Great locks for extra security and child proofing your exterior doors

Loved this item. What a great idea to a problem a lot of people have. I love how the mounting area is in the jamb and no visible to either side of entry/exit way. Long bolts and easy to adjust with the oblong mounting holes to cater to any thickness doorway. Only complaint (I blame the ghetto paint job in my complex for this) if the paint is latex and cheap job the rubber will eventually peel off the pain and stick to the door. Not the items/sellers fault but just be careful when installing. If you have a crap job at a complex I recommend removing the rubber strip by pulling it out of the track altogether so it does not stick to door. An additional piece of mind when living in a sketch area. Maybe confusing to operate by some people. I had to take 5 min to explain to my lady on how to use! Super cool and will buy more!

This lock was easy to install on a door that didn't have any locks. Saved so much time and money. Extra screws were a plus. I tried pushing the door after and it was stable and secure. Fits about any door as my door is very hard to find a proper lock for since the wall and door don't align. Great product overall. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for extra security in their homes!

These things are amazing! Your door jam will break before these they do. Only took a few minutes to install and they work great. Initially bought them to child proof the front and back doors but they are definitely good for entry denial. If you can, use the longest screws they provide and an intruder will break their shoulder before they break in.
