Great product. Love it.
Husband got this years ago as a gift. It quit working after all those years. Bought the same one cause we missed using it for the weather. Turns out it was the spinner had gotten broken. But the old weather screen still worked. Put that by back.door to use also. So both screens are working using one spinner. Awesome! Great having this. Use it everyday.

Good outdoor thermometer and good lcd, questionable outdoor wind speed.
I bike to work on days that isn't too cold nor rainy. So I wanted a device next to my bed when I wake up and quickly check the temp and weather condition. I was going to get the simple device with just the outdoor thermometer. Well this on eis on sale for the same price and had a wind measuring device so that was better. ALso this model has a better screen then the simplier one. Goods: + great for the price I got it at. Also I got another one as a Christmas present. + seem to be well built well, even the wind outdoor therometer was built pretty good. + setup was easy and it sync instantly. I have mine on the 3rd floor and it is outside in my back yard so the range is fine. + outdoor temp is on pair with accurate weather website I checked the city I live in, exact number. Indoor I think it might be 2 degrees higher compared to my house thermometer. + screen looks nice, but it is just led on a color background that doesn't change. + good dimming mode. It dim the led brightness per the time range (you can read the manual for that). It doens't have a light sensor, which I thought per term auto dim, but I did read the manual and it is time range). Issues: - Outdoor wind speed is very low if you place it low to the ground. You need to place it as high as you can. - led viewing angle, you need to be above it to see it. My is placed above me when I sleep so I can't read it when laying down. pending: currently it is still learning (they say 14 days), but I see it is producing some graphic of what is happening. I will see how accurate this gets. Overall for the price it is a great product. The wind speed is low as I don't have a higher mount to place it on. Also I didn't install the backup battery, don't care if it lose data of last month. But you do need 4 AA batteries for the wind outdoor thermometer.

Works as advertised
Not a robust build but it seems to work as advertised. I mounted the display on a wall near my workstation and it is quite readable when placed only slightly above eye-level. Nice!

Works Great..! If You Don't Play With It.
This is a nice unit and I am very happy with it. I followed the instructions exactly, and mounted it on the side of my house about 12 feet in the air. I was receiving some interference for the first week and was receiving inaccurate readings, and I was also playing with the unit controls for the first week. I changed the base unit and the outdoor unit to channel C and reset both of them to factory defaults, and did not play with or touch any of the base unit controls. It's now been about two months since I purchased it and the accuracy is within one degree two other instruments that I checked it with. The weather forecast function really does work accurately,...!! The little picture icons in the weather forecaster are really cool and give you a good idea of what to expect in the next 12 to 24 hours, But not till after the 33 days it requires to take all four thousand readings. If you set it up correctly and don't play with it it will give you accurate and reliable information and forecasting.

weather upgrade
Had a minimal sensor AcuRite and placed the outside sensor in the shade but weather is such a big thing in Tucson I added an upgrade and the sensor is in the sun with a wind speed. Set up was EASY and put both on channel C added batteries and it worked . Using to compare to the other the inside is very close and the in sun temps is up a few degrees. I LOVE the black background- the other lite up the roommate night but that's OK both are cool the combo is priced right, good quality and accurate so far-plus easy to set up

What You Might Need To Know
I've been using AcuRite products for years, mostly because their products are specifically designed for a range of Home Use consumers from small temp/weather related applications to the dedicated weather enthusiast, and their products are usually relatively inexpensive while still maintaining reasonable quality at the same time. However, due to the overall nature of inexpensive electronics and automated assembly, it's impossible not to have a lemon or glitch in the works somewhere. I could talk about how great this personal weather station is supposed to be, but why repeat what you've already heard before? Let's skip that part. Things you should know about the AcuRite 00589 Pro Color Weather Station: 1. The display screen sort of behaves like a privacy screen. The data is only bold and clear when viewing the display dead on at eye level. The data fades away when viewing it at angles. So keep that in mind while figuring out where to place the display. 2. The display can be wall mounted, but not flush mounted. Due to the bulging battery compartment, you must allow some space from the wall so the screen can hang parallel with the wall. There should be a sheetrock/panel insert and a longer screw included in the packaging so you can do this properly. - In addition to the wall mounting option, be sure not to mount the display over any power lines. Here's a good clue ... if a light switch is directly below where you're trying to mount it, then you're mounting it in the wrong place. Move over at least 6 - 12 inches. Not only will this reduce EM interference and improve sensor connectivity, but also avoid the chance of electrical shock and/or fire. 3. If you want to view the data at all times, then the backlight must remain on at all times. The wall power adapter enables the 'always on' feature automatically, but the default is 100% brightness. I actually find it a bit too bright, so I turn it down 1 notch to medium. There's also an auto-dim feature, but you probably won't like it, I know I don't, because that feature only uses Low & High, and I want Medium most of the time. 4. There's a slight conflict of interest concerning the outdoor sensor. The consumer must choose which is more important personally ... Wind or Humidity-Temp. --- a) If it's Upper Wind, then choose a nice big open area with a 50 yard clearing radius, mounted on 10 - 12 feet of pole. The sensor needs to be at least 2 feet higher than your house, if you don't have that kind of clearance. However, temp and humidity is not going to be accurate with this setup. --- b) If Lower Wind is satisfactory, then a mount point on the farthest corner of a deck at least 6 feet from a wall and 5 feet off the ground is sufficient. However, the temperature is not going to be accurate in direct sunlight. --- c) If Humidity-Temp is all you're really concerned about, then mount in an always shady area at least 6 feet from obstacles and 6 feet from the ground. However, you can forget the wind entirely. Don't even bother looking at the wind reading except for fun. 5. With #4 above in mind, you should realize it actually takes independent sensors to get the job done properly. With the way most people mount these 3-in-1 stations, the Wind sensor is just there for fun. Ideally you really want the Wind Sensor separate from the Humidity-Temp sensor out in wide open area, but if you want to take things that far, then you might as well cough up the money for expert professional instruments and become a REAL weather station, right? Glitches: So far I've only experienced 1 glitch. It's correctable, but I don't know yet if the glitch is going to repeat. After first-time power up and mounting, everything seemed to be fine. Over a period of 3 days the Temperature became inaccurate and slowly kept increasing to nearly 22 degrees higher than what the temp is supposed to be (I have other instruments to verify). I decided to do a hard reset of the display (just the display, never touched the sensor, never touched the channel switch) and the reset seems to have corrected the issue so far. If it happens again, then I'll let it be known.

accuracy
I had one of these units before and the outside unit stopped working after 10 years. Instead of replacing just the outside unit I decided to get a complete set this way I have another display screen in another location of the house because you can add multiple screens to the sending unit. I was lost when the older unit stopped working and that was why I ordered another unit. It's very accurate and I highly recommend this product.

Easy setup, very accurate
It would be a 5 star rating if the temperature and wind sensors would be separate. That would allow the temperature sensors to be placed in a location not exposed to direct sun.

Works as good as all ACU RITE units I've owned.
Great unit. Replaced old unit damaged during ice storm. Now I have 2 displays, one for sunroom and one for living room. My only complaint is there is no humidex reading. There is a reading showing the wind chill factor (outdoor temp 30C and humidity at 75% and wind chill reads 30C). Not sure if that is right, old display shows 36 degrees humidex.
