Is this the type thats used to make tea?

from everything read, yes you can make hibicus tea from the pods that form after the bloom fades ----not sure of the exact process but I'm sure there's info somewhere on the internet

Yes. This is the plant used for Te' de Flor de Jamaica.The tea is a beautiful deep red color,very tart, and is full of natural antioxidants

It looks just like sorrel. I have 3hibiscus tree, when I drive them for my products and don’t look like that.

Decorative hibiscus do not look that way. This is for hibiscus sabdariffa the tea hibiscus.

All hibiscus are edible; however, this variety is grown specifically for the red calyx (at the base of the flower) that is boiled in water to make tea. It’s delicious!
