Top Quality Products
I have bought 5 of these for gifts. For people who are mechanically inclined and like to tinker and build things. Every single one has been a smashing success! Every recipient has loved the assembly and now has a cherished product to share and tinker with. I received reports that there were extras of a few pieces that might have been prone to breakage, but none of the extras were needed because none of the first attempt pieces broke. There is also enough uncut wood to cut your own custom pieces if needed. Perfect working order after assembly on every single style of this brand. I will not trust another brand but this one I can trust completely. And so can you. Great designs, great gifts. Go for it. Please Click the helpful button if this review was helpful to you.

Great for retired hubbies
My hubby loves it. He was once in charge of huge construction projects. He often gets bored in retirement. I got this for our anniversary. I may get another one for his birthday.

Fun and Challenging
I've been building models for a few years now. This is the first wood model I've done and the first one with moving parts. I enjoyed it overall. It took a few nights to complete. The directions were fairly clear and all the pieces clearly marked. As others have said, you have to be careful with the pieces because they can be a bit fragile. I broke a couple and had to use wood glue to fix them. If two pieces aren't fitting together, it's better to sand them down until they fit. I also had to make some adjustments here and there so that I could crank the mechanism without it getting jammed. There's a fair amount of engineering involved. The most challenging part was working with the round orange pieces. Once they are on the metal rods, they're really hard to take off.

Clever and fun, but fragile
Probably somewhere betwren 2.5-3 stars. Would've been 4.5, but had a piece break that is essential to the whole mechanics functioning. Bought for Christmas for my son. The instructions are clear and everything is labelled well. The assembly takes awhile, but is still fun and satisfying. The problem is that some of the assembly requires a decent amount of force on fragile wood pieces. Even being extremely careful with getting the pieces connected without brute strength we had 4 pieces snap. 3 of which I glued back together well enough for them to function, but one was a piece of a gear which could not be glued with enough strength to handle catching the other wood gears repeatedly. The company website has a form to fill out for missing or broken pieces, but then after about a week wait, they emailed and said I need to pay $5 for shipping for ONE less-than-1" gear. I understand having to pay for shipping, but it seemed a little steep and ridiculous for a piece that tiny. All in all, my son got to see it work twice before the gear snapped. Ymmv, others may have much better luck with things not breaking, but fyi that the part replacement has a fee, and in general I can't say that I'd recommend because it's gonna take a couple hours of assembly and in the end something could snap and render the whole thing useless.

Same as the first ROKR puzzle I did, packaged well and all the pieces were easy to pop out and assemble. Once concern with the way one piece is built with 3 little wood screws that go into opposite sides staying put, but once the built piece was snapped to the main board, it worked flawlessly. The arm that works the elevator is pretty cool to watch -- I've had 2 of these this Christmas and will consider getting a 3rd in another month or so -- great fun to assemble and end product is a neat showpiece! Highly Recommended!!!

Just finished the marble run, works just fine, enjoyed the challenge. I would suggest using a lite silicone grease as I think it works better then the wax. I build RC cars and trucks (have 27 of them) most kits come with some of it I used it sparingly it helps everything work better. Now onto the airship, got two at the same time would recommend to any one who enjoys a challenge will defanatly be buying more of them. Thanks

This model kit's tough to rate because it really depends on the type of experience you're seeking. I wanted a challenging experience for a clever kid. I knew, going in, that the age recommendation was 14 and up, and therefore, figured that with an adult's assistance (i.e. me), this project would be doable for someone a bit younger than the recommended age. Plus side: I have no regrets purchasing this kit. It was a fun and rewarding experience, and the end-product looks and works great. The clever kid loves it. Potential downside: I did find some of the tabs/slots to be extremely tight fits. Particularly difficult were parts that required joining multiple tabs/slots together and not knowing which slot was causing resistance. Pressing too hard might cause the layers of the wood to split. I happened to have a very slender filing tool that was the perfect size to shave off a bit of material here and there to facilitate a tight fit. At one point, I spent about 45 minutes joining, taking apart, filing, and repeating several times, before finally getting a critical structure to fit the base snugly. In summary, at least in my experience, it took some problem-solving and persistence to get this project done correctly. I watched a video of a guy putting the pieces with the ease of snapping Lego bricks together. That was not my experience. It required patience, dexterity, and a bit of creativity when dexterity was not enough.
