Fantastic, but I wish I could find them cheaper so I could get them all the time.
I first tried these out in Seattle and fell in love with them, unfortunately my asian grocery stores doen't carry them. I like that the "wrapper" dissolves in you mouth leaving you a soft gummy light mochi candy that isn't too sweet and has a nice citrus flavor. I got these as a special splurge purchase, and it lasted me only two weeks... It's just so hard to close the box once opened. I did find the first box I tasted was slightly off, but it was because they were still warm (it was in Florida). Once they cooled to room temperature they tasted better.

Like crack!
These are so good that words alone cannot describe them. Just yummy orange treats in rice paper that just melts in your mouth. Very difficult to stop eating these once you start. Fortunately the price does keep you from going too far.

Excellent and unique citrus candy from Japan
This is the real deal, from Japan. There is a knockoff of this candy, readily available in the US, but it's very inferior to the real Bontan Ame. Yeah, it's expensive item, but it's cheaper than a trip to Japan! This candy seems to be sold in two containers, one that holds 10 pieces and one that holds 14. This one is the larger, with 14 pieces. If you've never had one of these, they are a chewy citrus candy (Pomelo flavored, I believe) with each piece wrapped in an edible rice paper. This particular shipment arrived by Registered US mail, requiring a signature, so, you know, clearly this is VERY valuable stuff! Seika Foods has been making this candy since 1924 so that pretty much makes it a classic.

Bontan Ame
I almost returned, cancelled return, but love these so much I didnโt. The only problem was they melted on my hot porch. Next time I will be home for the delivery. But, today they arenโt as melty and so good! These are the original ones and recommend buying!!!

I can get these for like$1.00 to $1.50 a box at the local japanese stores. it's a cheap candy. tasty but cheap.

don't bother
these don't taste anything like pumelo or any other fruit...just sweet jelly. plus the boxes and the candies are really small. very disappointing.
