At 56 I’m teaching myself the violin. I have no prior music experience. The DVD is structured for the beginner and covers topics from how to hold the violin and bow to how to read music to how to play simple tunes. I purchased the 1st book, but after going through the lessons I purchased all the books. The teacher teaches at a comfortable pace and repeats techniques. Prior to purchasing this book I was dependent on You Tube videos for various instructions. It was confusing and since I never played an instrument I didn’t know how to organize my “remote” learning. Awesome instructor, you’ll connect instantly as she eludes a pleasant, friendly and helpful personality. Not bad for a virtual person. 🤣.

An excellent book for young and old beginners. It is easy to understand. The video CD is just what I needed to learn how to hold the violin and bow. The menu at the beginning takes you right to the section you want to study. It is well worth the money.

My grandkids were interested in learning to play the violin for just a short while then they lost interest. Since I bought the instruments for them and one of them is still in good shape, I decided I'd try to learn to play. These learning tools are perfect for the beginner. The book and DV are easy to learn and follow - and the price was right. I'm looking forward to playing "a tune" soon. Thank you.

I am an older adult, and I have always wanted to learn to play violin. The book and DVD are an excellent way to start! I would have rated this 5 stars, but the book did not include a CD. I live in an area where internet access is "spotty" and it is very difficult to download the audio access onto a computer. I would have preferred the CD that was supposed to come with the beginner's pack.

Very nice. It was delivered 6 days before expected delivery date! My son is very excited since he wanted to start learning again and we cannot go to practice during quarantine. The product looks easy enough and understandable to learn on his own.

Helpful! I’m a total beginner trying out the violin before I commit to lessons. Can now play several songs & an on my way to relearning how to read music.

Easy to follow along and decent practices.

easy to understand . I managed the basics of violin in 3 months . also it was fun! However after I used the DVD a few times the DVD broke down. Could I get a free replacement DVD for this book?
