TDLR: It really makes my hair very very black. The black that I searching for. I was always went with their Jet Black but It's not black at all, my hair is still obviously brownish black not jet black. They should stop advertise as jet black seriously. I stuck with it for 7 months only because this brand offers very minimal smell and No black stain which is deal a breaker for me. I try to do more research if they offer another options for black which from my research they do have 3 different options of black so I ask AI which one is the darkest. And AI told me to go with this one. Price is almost double from the other 2. They should be good and worth my money. lol It's barely cover my head but came out satisfying. My reddish brown is finally gone. I'm so happy. Very minimal smell. I have to cover my grey hair every 2 months. Finally I found something that I will stick with.

I am impressed with this formula. As someone with dark brown hair who likes to add color, I approve of this product. Im loving my cherry red color. The product mixture did not trigger my breathing issues as some do with their potent chemicals. Dye mixed easily and fast, color is almost instant when adding into hair. Hair was soft as I was rinsing the product out, no resistance. The conditioner was nice, smelled great and left my hair soft. I had lightened my hair in a prior dye job so the color may seem a bit lighter but my roots are a nice dark cherry. I really do love this product.

I do love this color, but it does fade. I'm a white girl with very dark and coarse hair, and it turned out just like the box picture, but it faded within a couple weeks, even putting some dye in my conditionor to try to keep its color. I've changed to the Fade resistant dye from this brand, keeps so much better!

Okay, so this was my first time dying my hair and I've been wearing my hair natural for over 2 years now. I've never put any product in my hair before now (no relaxers, not anything) and after conducting internet research of ALL the mixed reviews on coloring your hair in general I was feeling slightly apprehensive. My hair is very thick and I THINK my texture pattern is somewhere between a 3 and 4 in different parts of my head. My hair is completely black and I was worried that the dye would only lighten my hair and not actually go all the way to red. I needn't have worried. Like SERIOUSLY. This stuff is great. I used 3 boxes of this to cover all my hair (I've got a lot of it) and it turned out this BEAUTIFUL autumn red. I was also worried that my virgin scalp would be overly sensitive to the chemicals and while I did experience a stinging sensation on the top of my scalp for most of the time the dye was setting, it was never "burning" and far from unbearable. The box says to leave it in for 30 min for natural hair but I think I left it in for at least 45 min/1 hour. Again this stuff was GREAT. The smell was pretty strong (like yo, crack a window) but otherwise I am completely satisfied with my results. I don't know how this will hold up after washing, but I've purchased color-safe shampoo for natural hair so I'm quite hopeful. Of course, everyone's hair is different, but this was great for me.

The Color is wonderful on gray hair it really does the job and doesn't make your hair hard love it will reorder

I dont know of I got a bad batch or what because I've used Dark and Lovely box dyes in the past (multiple times) with excellent results, but this was horrible. My hair did not take ANY dye and my hair has been recently dyed a honey blonde color. Ive never had a dye not take at all. But this did nothing on my roots nor the length of my hair. I even left it on my hair for about 10 minutes longer, but when I say NO RED took, I mean nothing. I was a little concerned because red dye is usually deep red (or purple,depending), but after mixing, the dye was light pink. I should have stopped right there. But the worst part about this is despite the dye not working at all, my hair now feels extremely processed and dry. At this point, I'm just going to use a cellophane/rinse to get the red color I desire.
