Been using baitcasters and spinning real for a good while no so decided to find a kit to learn fly fishing. This is exactly what it is and a good price too. Made an unboxing quick video of everything included. First everything arrived fine and packed nicely. The rod is pretty great, flexible enough and good backbone. Reel and line are pretty good too. Came with bunch of flies, extra leader, and little accesories like liner cuter, pliers etc. In general is a great kit to learn instead of spending so much money as a begginer. Totally recommended.

I live in Florida with a small pond next to my home. Blue gills, crappies, bass. Picking a small fly at random I headed out to test the equipment and learn how to cast. Seemed easy to feed line out and cast and I felt pretty good laying that fly down gently the first time and having a fighting crappie on the line. He bent the rod pretty good in his fight but then all of a sudden this gator comes by and fights it. Gator was very young, about 4-5 foot long and after he got a death grip on the fish head, I sort of guide both fish and gator in to shore. It then did a death roll, snapped the line and took off furhter down the pond where my neighbor took the picture. Count me as a satisfied customer and at the moment I lay claim to the first person who caught a fish and alligator on this lightweight but excellent flyrod.

So far I'm really happy with this fly rod. It has been quite some time since I last fly fished and I wanted an inexpensive set up to get back into it. Having a 4 piece rod is nice because it breaks down into a small easy to store package. I am not overly impressed with the flies that come with this package. They seem to fall apart quickly and the hooks are really cheap.

This kit allowed me to get started fly fishing this season without breaking the bank. I wanted to wait until I got some good use out of it to give an honest review and I have to say, I am more than impressed! My buddy spent three times what I did for a starter kit which he likely regrets. Net Angler is the way to go. Everything you need to get started fly fishing. At this price, it can't be beat. The rod has held up to the abuse of a novice learner and allowed me to refine my fly fishing technique. The flies could have been higher quality with more variety, but something is better than nothing. The rod case and sleeve allow me to keep it in my vehicle so I'm always ready to fish. I have never Fly Fished before but wanted to learn so I ordered this kit that came ready to tie a fly on with a Clinch Knot and go! I did buy some floatant paste to help the fly's to stay on top of the water but other than that it came ready to just assemble the rod and reel. I watched YouTube videos to learn how to tie the knots and understand the basics and then I went to a high mountain lake here in Utah and started fishing. I snagged the fly a few times on bushes behind me and and the flies eventually came apart after a while of not being smooth and slow enough with my back cast but I got better and better and was able to start getting the fly's out a long ways where I wanted them to land. I caught one 10 inch trout.

Nothing to dislike, excellent starter kit. It has great action. Came prepared to fish right out of the smiley faced box. The reel is all set to go. I would recommend buying either tippets, or just a spool of 6lb mono to add to the end to attach flies. If this is your first ever time fly fishing, you will bust off several flies and use a bunch of line. The flies that come with the kit are nice, I have caught many bluegills, bass and even some crappie. The reel is nice, the drag works well, the rod is nice and smooth, zero issues using the rod for a couple months now.

I am headed to float the middlefork of the salmon river, and I decided that I would like to try fly fishing. I needed an affordable set up to take along. I found this on Amazon and figured worst case, I would have some flies and a carry case. First, I am not sure why some folks are talking about this having a plastic reel. It is definitely aluminum. I think its CNC finished aluminum. The finish is nice an smooth and the reel spins very nicely. Maybe it's super light weight is misleading. The rod itself seems to be a nice quality and very lightweight. It looks and feels like it is made of carbon and the end that the reel attaches to has a cool carbon fiber weave look and the thumbscrews are made of aluminum. I leave for my trip soon and will update this review after I return. For now, I give it 4 stars since it arrived exactly as described and seems to be of decent quality, and for ~70 dollars, it seems like a good value.

This is a great beginner fly rod. It was good size and weight for my 14 year old daughter, she even caught a fish her first time using it. The case is very nice and there was a good assortment of tools and flies to get started.

Love my fly rod. Great quality reels, poles and little flies that come with. As a beginner it’s been perfect for me and even a year later on it’s fine. It comes with an extra tip which is great because i accidentally fell and broke the last one!
