Black Beauty

This is a well-made paperback book of the classic story, Black Beauty. The story is suitable for people from elementary school through adulthood. I've read it a few times over the years. It is sad for a little while but ends happily. I think everyone should read this classic.

Absolutely love it. Bought it as a gift for My baby sister as this was one of my favorite books to read at her age. Love the art on the cover.

The story is timeless and the original illustrations add a nice touch, though the formatting could be a bit cleaner.

Affordable, no rips or tears or anything like that, only had like 2 scuffs but not super noticeable so thats good. I highly recommend this book😊

This paperback edition from Sky Publishing is decent for the price($6.99) with original illustrations and text. The illustrations are small, and few and far between, but I bought this as a gift for a 5th grader at which age occasional illustrations would suffice. Considering this has the original text from a 100+ years ago in old school English, and the tiny font size, I would recommend for the age range of 10-12. If you are looking for an edition for slightly more younger readers such as an 8 year old, I would recommend the hardcover abridged&illustrated edition from Wonder House Books with more frequent illustrations. It is as good as the original in capturing the essence of the story with plenty of pleasant illustrations, often full page ones, that would really suit readers around the age of 8/2nd-3rd grade to enjoy the story by themselves with independent reading.

My granddaughter loves this book! I wish we had more books for youth with good values and stories. This is a story of good prevailing.

This is a well-written classic that I highly recommend, especially to animal lovers. I was disappointed, however, that the design on the cover is not sculpt-embossed as advertised, but just printed flat, as in a regular book. Nevertheless, this edition is still a welcome addition to my collection.

Neste livro, é narrada a trajetória de Beleza Negra, desde a separação de sua mãe, quando era apenas um potro, até o encontro de seu lar e família definitivos. São narrados os abusos que os cavalos sofriam na época. E, por conta da narrativa em primeira pessoa, sob o ponto de vista de Beleza Negra, os abusos são ainda mais perceptíveis e intensos. Apesar do sofrimento, há um final feliz e muito bonito. É uma ótima história para as crianças e, também, para os adultos que gostam dos animais. Ademais, a edição contém várias ilustrações em preto e branco e algumas coloridas. É costurado e encapado com tecido. Qualidade ótima da Everyman's Library, como sempre.
