Upon using it for a week; I am rather less than impressed. 1. The seat does not rock. It reclines offering no resistance unless locked. 2. The locking mechanism is located in a bad location. It's a real stretch to lock the chair while sitting down. 3. Height adjustment does not lower far enough. 4. The foot rest is flimsy. It strains when you put your feet up. It is comfortable. It is not very functional. Review: A lot more chair than the price reflects ($102) - After reading all the reviews I was very pleasantly surprised when I unpacked and assembled this chair to see and feel that it is much sturdier and more comfortable than many other reviewers have stated. I was very worried ordering it at first because of so many lackluster reviews but it was exactly what I was looking for so I had to give it a try. I have not been disappointed in any way with it. The only con it has is that the foot rest is a bit flimsy but I expected that since most are. Other reviewers have said that the chair tips badly forward if you sit on the edge of the seat. I have not experienced this at all. It has been very stable both leaning forward and while laying all the way down. My situation is a bit unique in that I actually do sleep in my chair. I lay it all the way down, prop my feet on a small table and sleep as if it were a bed. I have not once felt like it was going to tip over (I also make sure one leg of the chair base is pointing straight backward before I lay down) and even with back problems I have been happy with my comfort level especially for the price I paid for it ($102). The foot rest is sturdy enough for daytime propping when I am sitting or reclining awake in the chair but I do not feel like it would hold up if I were to brace my whole weight onto it to shift my position while laying down. It could also be used for a quick office nap laying down, just done brace your whole weight on it to shift. This was the only reason I gave it 4 stars in sturdiness. I have not had an issue with the arm rests like other reviewers have mentioned and they have supported an adults weight because my teenagers (one is 170lbs and the other is 125lbs) have a habit of coming up and sitting on the arm of my chair while talking to me. Do follow the directions during assembly and do NOT fully tighten all of the bolts immediately. Sit in it for a day or two and then tighten them. The chair "settles" some during that time. Also, when attaching the chair back to the metal bracket it will seem like two of the bolts are too short. They are not too short, you have to make sure the edging of the upholstery is laying flat and apply some pressure and then will hit the threads then just fine. It is just the padding holding the bracket up too far, the screw in a good distance one they catch the threading. The wheels can also be tough to get properly settled into the legs, works best if you slightly wiggle them side to side while applying a lot of pressure to get them to go in. This suits me because it means they are well and tightly attached and won't be just falling out anytime soon. Overall I couldn't be happier with this chair and look forward to many years of use. I would happily buy another once this one reaches the end of its life.

Comfy, but be careful leaning forward!
I like the leather, reclinability, padding of the seat and the arm rests. Footrest is a nice additon, feels a bit cheaper and weaker than the rest of the chair, and a bit awkward to use. Bigger than my last chair, comfortable and sturdy, but if I lean forward to pick something up off the floor, it tips over. Let me clarify, this is used in my office/craft room, not for gaming or strictly office/deskwork. A customer picture showed the arm rests raised and I thought they were adjustable, but they aren't. I have a big older desk and the arm rests hit the drawer when at the desk. Slightly dissapointed because I had hoped I could have moved them out of the way when pulled up to the desk. Highback is comfortable. My only other irritation(?) the wheels aren't even, and the chair rocks a bit sometimes. I don't know if it was a production or assembly issue. Rolls easily enough. Works well, but I worry about the arms getting damaged when they hit the desk (Not the fault of the chair). It's a comfy chair, I'm satisfied with it, but probably won't buy another because its really too much for my situation. On average, I sit in it 10-12 hours a week and feel I will get several years of service from it.

Defects in new chair
I received my new chair from today. The box the unit was packed in was undamaged, however upon opening the package, I discovered a small tear in the arm rest, and a small tear in the seatback in a side corner. I have included numerous photos of both tears. The chair assembled easily, and is very comfortable. Unfortunately, it has a few tears. The low rating is due to a new product having obvious defects. I am in contact with the seller, so we will see how it's Customer service handles this problem. UPDATE: The seller's email is having problems receiving emails, so I cannot get a response from the seller. Not looking good for an easy fix. I will wait a few days and see if I hear back from the seller. if I don't, i'll deal with Amazon for a return. UPDATE: in touch with seller and they are giving us a large discount on the chair - so we are pleased, but would rather have had a damage free product to begin with. We have been using the chair to check it out. So far, happy with the versatility of positions and back support. The seat gets a bit hard on the rear after about 3 to 4 hours. But that's certainly long enough to be sitting anyway!!

Hole Within One Week of Use
Overall this is a nice comfortable chair but within one week it developed a hole in the seat along the seam. This was a gift for our college age daughter who only weighs 114 lbs so weight was not the issue. She is very disappointed to say the least.

arms won't stay on
I like the padding, however the arm fell off after a week of use. The foot rest is kind of flimsy.

Gorgeous Chair
This is a beautiful chair once it's put together. Putting it together was a challenge. Little details were left out, like how the metal piece in the back goes on the inside of the bracket on the seat. I had to really focus to figure out how to do it because the directions were very unclear on certain parts. Other than that, the chair is great quality and very comfortable. Great value.
