Haw can I register this number??

You can activate the SIM card either before or after you arrive in Australia, using the instructions provided in the Starter Kit. You will be given a variety of different plans to choose from. One form of ID will be required to activate the SIM card. If you are activating it prior to entering Australia, you will need to provide credit card details as proof of ID. If you are activating it after entering Australia, you can provide either a credit card, International Passport, Australian Passport, Australian Driver’s License, or Green Medicare Card. Note that Optus advises that activation can take between 15 minutes to 4 hours.

Can I activate the card abroad & calling / texting before I arrive at Australia?

No, an Optus SIM cannot be activated abroad. You must be in Australia and have a valid passport and visa number. You will also need a credit card to complete the activation.

Couldn't activate simcard. Spoke to Optus, they said it shouldn't have been sold via Amazon. $2 is nothing, but the several hours of being stuffed around was rubbish. Put simply, don't buy it via amazon
